Halo always adds. Deal. With. It.

Oh boy the good days of Halo:CE. No online, Just lan, People running around and shooting eachother. No boarding, No duel wielding, No random lag to deal with. It was pure. Everything pretty much worked.

Then Halo 2 was dropped onto our laps and we all came because of Xbox live. Yet some of us -Yoink- because Halo 2 changed the original formula. There were half weapons due to duel wielding, A bit of randomness due to online lag, and vehicles were now not as safe. There were even glitches (Some fun I will admit) but standby, cheating. Some people were MAD.

Then Halo 3 was announced and Bungie said they were going to try to go back to the old ways, try to balance things. Halo 3 sorta fixed weapons, Now half weapons weren’t as big, Duel Wielding was just another way to fight, not as needed as it was in Halo 2. However Bullet Spread and lag still had a bit of randomless. It was just a more balanced (to a degree) version of Halo 2.

Yet with all that niceness Bungie gave us equipment. They were like things you picked up to give you offensive or defensive advantages. It added something new, Almost random. Nobody could really know what people had. Anyone could have a bubble shield or a power drainer. People almost got MAD

Then Halo Reach was announced. And like Halo 3 bungie said the same things almost. They even got rid of duel wielding and sorta fixed weapons. Yet no more really then Halo 3 did. Infact Duel Wielding could have easily worked in Reach. Yet overall they gave us better weapons (kinda) and such.

Then however as with Halo2 and Halo3 there was still randomness to a degree and now Bungie gave us something else. AA’s. Equipment you kept and could spawn with. It was like equipment but like I said you had it all the time. In retrospect it was better, Because it wasn’t random as much. Because unlike Equipment which you didn’t even know IF they had it or WHAT they had. Now you just had to worry about WHAT they had.

Halo CE: Nothing really. Shoot. Aim. Beat down. blow stuff up and drive.
Halo 2: Now you have duel wielding which adds some things. Online which adds stuff. Boarding. Glitches. Such on. It changes Halo:CE’s formula

Halo3: Now we had better Duel Wielding, Boarding stayed, Now with equipment. Now you had to worry about a possibility of someone having an advantage over you.

Halo Reach: No DWing. Boarding stayed. So on and AA’s were in. Now you just had to worry about what they could have. Yet you at least knew they would have it.

So really there is no “Halo Formula” it has always changed. From game to game. From huge changes to smaller ones, however it has changed. All the time. Duel wielding, boarding, equipment, AA’s, loadouts, whatever it is. Adds. Adds a new layer of forumla.

Formula could be viewed like

HaloCE: Weapons, Nades, Beat downs and Vehicles

Halo 2:Weapons(Pretty much had Duel Wielding Now, Nades, Beat Downs(LUNGEEE) Vehicles(now with boarding)

Halo 3:: Weapons(DW), Nades, Beat Downs(lunge), Vehicles (Boarding/EMP’s). Equipment

Halo Reach: Weapons, Nades, Beat Downs (lunge), Vehicles (Boarding/EMP’s). Armor Abilities. Load Outs.

So really. Yes Halo Reach has more things to add to. However it’s not the only Halo to ever add new elements or sub elements to Halo.

Also as somebody said. ANd I quote

“Good players can learn to cope and adapt with new elements of a sport, game, or event. It is not impossible to be a good player with skill with the “random” AA’s of Reach or Halo 3.”

You may not like having to think more then just what weapons or nades somebody has, But that’s on your own self, not Bungies or the games.

Plus Bungie gave us Custom Games for a reason and MLG and other playlists with no AA’s. So on. Play customs, Fix the game, it gives you the power top

TOO LONG?

Halo always adds elements of “Randomness”.

It will continue to add elements of “Randomness”

Randomness is it quotes for a reason.

I agree with you bro!
And if you are asking why, because I to lazy to read all of that…so yeah,
You are RIGHT ABOUT THAT bro! (--) (^^)

> Then however as with Halo2 and Halo3 there was still randomness to a degree and now Bungie gave us something else. AA’s. Equipment you kept and could spawn with. Armour Abilities weren’t random. Everybody spawned with Armour Lock or Jetpack. Kinda’ predictable after a while.

Its nice someone is on board with change and not saying 343i is a fail. I too agree with this and yes, there is customs so everyone can have fun.

This must be why Halo keeps going downhill…

> > Then however as with Halo2 and Halo3 there was still randomness to a degree and now Bungie gave us something else. AA’s. Equipment you kept and could spawn with. > Armour Abilities weren’t random. Everybody spawned with Armour Lock or Jetpack. Kinda’ predictable after a while.

I have seen more people use active camo and sprint more than I have seen them use those two.

Halo just gets fresher instead of COD games that get cloned more. Of course we could go to the COD forumla and never add.

However with AA’s and Equipment it’s simple math

In Halo3 there is 1/2 (50%) chance someone has one. And a 1/x possible of what they could have (x=the # of equipment halo 3 has)

Halo reach is now just 1/x (x=number of AA’s). Less random. Easier predict.

> Duel Wielding was just another way to fight, not as needed as it was in Halo 2.

I don’t know what Halo 2 you guys were playing, I really don’t.

> However Bullet Spread and lag still had a bit of randomless. It was just a more balanced (to a degree) version of Halo 2. Yet with all that niceness Bungie gave us equipment.

Bullet Spread and Melee were easily the biggest complaints with Halo 3. They hardly fit the “HURR WE COMPETITIVE WE HAET INTERESTING THINGS” viewpoint you try to force on those players who care about broken gameplay models, though, do they? Ah, forget I said anything; just set up that strawman and knock him down, you vicious beast you.

So… Halo always adds. Unless it removes…
gotcha.

I see the argument here is that all change is equivalent, because it is change.
No. When change is not game-model-breaking it deserves to be complained about.
When change IS game-model-breaking, it deserves to be reverted, updated, or at least addressed in the next title.

> Of course we could go to the COD forumla and never add.

Seemed to work for them…more than double the sales of Halo.

So if you say Halo always adds, you must not be against the addition of iron sights or kill streaks.

OP is talking about the additions 343 has CONFIRMED. They have never confirmed your two additions, nice try though.

I know they haven’t confirmed those two additions, that wasn’t the point.

Nvm, I don’t feel like explaining.

If you use that logic, you need to learn to type before being listened to on this forum.

Oh boy. You would make me sign in just to tell you how wrong you are. The simple fact that you have three times more forum posts than XP in the game means that your opinion is completely irrelevant, and more so, the fact that you pretend to know how halo should actually work and have the pretentious mind to post your novel about it is even more mind boggling. If you spend more time typing meaningless nonsensical arguments on here than you ever have playing the game, how is your opinion, and yes it is an opinion cause you are flat out wrong about pretty much everything you’ve said, even a reflection of someone who plays on a regular basis? (whether they would be decent or completely terrible at the game put aside). This has to be one of the biggest examples as to why i DONT post on these forums, all the way back since the bnet forums were full of people like you. You make grandeur and false statements about a game that you know nothing about and have barely played, yet players like me who have played heavily for ten years DONT feel the need to get on here and write bullsht novels that no one wants to read. Anyone I know that actually plays the game, plays it, instead of -Yoinking!- about it. Yeah halo adds with every new release, but they always remove things as well. And personally I think that a lot of the additions/ removals in Reach were a bad move, but I gaurantee you I haven’t written a book on it because like YOU SAID, those who can actually play halo, will adapt and either learn to use the new additions effectively, or just avoid them all together. It is painstaikinly obvious that you can not learn to do either of those two solutions. THE FORMULA FOR HALO IS THIS: IF YOUR GOOD, YOU PLAY IT AND SMASH PEOPLE WHO ARENT. IF YOU ARE BAD, YOU PLAY IT AND GET SMASHED BY PEOPLE WHO ARE GOOD AND YOU -Yoink- ABOUT IT ON THE FORUMS. FORMULA SOLVED. This is the real formula for halo, if you are good you play and have a good time. If you are bad you create forum threads trying to justify your lack of skill. If you wanna keep halo as halo, halo 4 would include the halo 3 Br, halo reach DMR, and the halo 1 pistol, and get rid of all armour abilites except for maybe sprint, and that solution is extremely obvious to anyone who plays a decent amount, and really needs no explanation. Its common sense. If you don’t get it, just quit the game.

Your right!

I love the additions such as

Random spread that doesnt give me kills when i deserve it.
Online lag that makes games unplayable at points.
Standbyers, cheaters, etc.

And changes such as

Removal of dualwielding for no reason.

Yes that was sarcasm.

Also, you can only see like 1 AA, and that is jetpack.

Maybe 343 can give kids like you a option in customs, and we enjoy the other 20 playlists. Thanks.
