Now I must post a forum topic to have the community to be aware of the maps I have done but mainly a reason to a specific few as to why the will never even be played as to prevent any form of spread among anyone aside myself and offline gameplay.
I will admit I am quite a nolife halo fanatic
so much so that I spent this last year with many restless nights focusing on how to remake EVERY Last Halo map -console- to the fullest. now im not talking attempts not even a top quality by you weak standards or even a top quality overlimit standard but borderlining my actual health focus on how to forge the worlds best attempt quality maps. practically the actual map in itself
but also toning them down to hold all the specifics and detail without or to minimize a screen issue.
now in the past when I started my Project several months ago I released a standard quality beta look at my first map and promised to release that one later when it was done.
but among a few users that were discharded is a user that was known by coldFUSION a massive redicule over the computer and over xbox itself.
In the end I quite simply refuse to give you all a single map but as a man who keeps my word only when I know its something I can keep I must let you have my finished
LAST RESORT MAP
its up on my fileshare or you can search my tag in the custom search but that was the only promise I had made several months ago
simply think of it as a taste of a single map from everything that has every been within grasp. to simply have it all shunned away by the user I myself dont even use them anymore though I do regret wasting my time this last year I donot regret being able to throw this in the face of all those who attempt to claim there imperfection of maps as a remake you cant even call them a tribute.
It truely saddens me as I feel my own heart fall knowing im being a restrictful person even though I would sacrifice so much for this way of gaming, the halo franchise.
but keep in mind and look forward unto halo 4 when non of this will matter anymore to wait is simply unbearable.
and always keep in mind for those who do get the map that it was the first one all I updated on the recent one is a few layout not to much visuals
I hear ya, But ive learned something with my experience, Noone in a legitimate stance, that post on 343 waypoint website will give these maps a look. Because simply overlimited maps are and will always been looked down upon by OFFICIALS Simply because its in their eyes an “unfair advantage” in this instance I dont blame them as they fear something or look down upon something that Isnt set to “standards” I went through the exact same redicule a year ago when i released what i claimed to be A PERFECT recunstruction of headlong, While looking back on it i can tell you it wasnt perfect, there were alot of flaws HOWEVER it was better then the one listed as “the best” which was in my opinion WAY TO SCALED DOWN, What ive learned out of all of that reidicule is to make the maps you want to make…Remakes or otherwise, and post them, If you are looking to BE THE BEST people will tell you otherwise because of HIGHER STANDARDS. I stopped claiming to be the best a long time ago because i hated the feeling i had when i was told it isnt the best when your gut tells you otherwise. Its hard. But my advise keep doing remakes, build a fanbase, get your work noticed, and most importantly…Dont let the OFFICIALS keep you from getting pleasure out of forging. You may never see matchmaking play, i havent yet either. but to be honest i stopped looking for the glory and started doing my own and believe me it way more fufilling.

This.
If you go into a project expecting it to be the best and expect to get lots of recognition for it, then I guarantee you will be disappointed about 99% of the time. You should never do something for notoriety. Do it b/c you enjoy it, and if people like what you do then it will catch on. I’ve seen many many many great maps out there that have never gotten the recognition they deserve, but their creators don’t care. They continue to build the stuff they want to build b/c they and their friends enjoy it, not b/c they have high expectations for it. You can’t expect everyone to feel the same way about something as you do. It’s called difference of opinion, and there is no way of getting around it.
When it comes to remaking maps, there is only one way to do it and it’s all about who can get it the closest. After finding the closest one, all other versions of the map become obsolete. So when remaking a map you need to aim high b/c if you don’t then odds are good that someone else will come along and top whatever you do. The best remakes are the ones that find the best balance between accuracy and performance. This means keeping as many details as you can until the framerate starts to take hits. The better you do at choosing pieces, the more leeway you’ll have w/ framerate. It’s also about picking and choosing which details are really necessary for the map. If it doesn’t effect gameplay in any way then it is purely aesthetic and doesn’t really need to be there. This is something I’ve had to learn myself over the past two years. If you take a look at a map I made a year ago compared to one I made a month ago, their like night and day in comparison.
tl;dr
There’s no need to get discouraged b/c other people don’t feel the same way about your work as you do. No matter how good it is, there’s bound to be someone who doesn’t like it. Instead of trying to push your opinion of it on everyone, take what they’re saying and make it better. Not only will your work improve, but you will improve as a Forger as well.
