Something tells me that 343 is trying to kill off the Chief in Halo 5. They said it’s going to be the darkest Halo yet. I understand that John is going to be emotional without Cortana and that alone will make the game darker. They had enough in them to kill off Cortana what makes you think they won’t kill off Master Chief? They already hint about him being old hardware. They are also making this little extra story with Spartan Ops to ensure they will have extra characters to use. I swear if the Chief dies and they replace him with say… Laskey and company… I will not play the remaining Campaigns. It’s not that I don’t want chief to die. It’s the fact that none of the characters that 343 are trying to develop are worthy to be featured in a Halo game.
Personally, I hope Chief gets a Dark Knight Rises style ending.
And the idea of Chief being “out-dated” doesn’t necessarily mean he’s going to die. In Skyfall, similiar themes are explored and Bond ends up being the one to actually do everything.
If John dies… I don’t give a crap! Rather play as my Spartan in campaign anyway! No not cause Reach! I wanted to be able to use my own dude since Halo 3.

She was human size at the end…She touched his chesticles!

When John detonates the bomb Cortana ports him somewhere to safety. What happened there? I thought she somehow figured out how to correctly compose and uncompose him to get him out of the nuke and into space, but if hes immune to the composer…
What exactly did Cortana do? I am thoroughly convinced she composed him since she was able to touch his chest and say ‘ive wanted to do that for so long’

I didn’t get it either first time round but for my Legendary playthrough I got the notion that she was able to use the hard light tech around them to protect Chief.
Cause it’s totally possible to create a field like that when the nuke is in his hands…
