When 343 announced the coming of halo 4, 5, and 6, on June 10, 2013. will 343 end the epic halo saga after 6? or will the ever so growing universe of Halo expand even more? I feel like its a lot of work since just adding fire team Osiris and all to wrap things up in halo 6. what are your thoughts on this guys. Maybe side games?
It’s way too early to speculate on future titles outside of Halo 6.
The idea of the trilogy was dropped at some point after they announced that, good article here about their thoughts with some commentary from Bonnie.

Their plan is to eventually drop the numbered titles (something they actually wanted to do with Halo 5). Forbes article might actually be better to link, but I’m not disabling my adblocker to read it again and check 
Halo 6 is a really good number. Like halo 3. I really hope 343 appreciates the number 6.

For Halo specifically, I like the idea of ending the numbered games on Halo 7, rather than Halo 6, due to the significance of the number “7” for the franchise. I also believe there’s plenty of story for the conclusion of the Created Story Arc (and possibly Master Chief’s story) in two games. And if they put in another Halo Wars or ODST -type spin-off game between Halo 6 & 7, then Halo 7 would be the 12th game released on the consoles (not counting re-releases), and 12 is another significant number for this franchise.
It would be silly if 343 wanted to ‘move away from numbers’ if the only unnumbered halo would be the final game.

The first of most series doesn’t go by a number. The first Final Fantasy is just called Final Fantasy.
It was really a big mistake not to do a trilogy should’ve had a solid plan but now we have a mess of a saga I could go on forever that’s why I say reboot with Joseph Staten writing it they’ve already drop the egg and they can’t save it with just tape.
I hope they move away from numbers since higher ones just highlight how old the franchise is and make it feel dated.

Delving into numerology, seven is a special number in ancient proto-European culture of Greece and contemporaries, so I believe Halo mainline - as we know it nowadays - should have seven installments. Besides, good if it catches up that 2021~2023AD timeframe. When it comes to pioneers, you never give the number “1” to the first release in a line, which is always represented simply by the name, otherwise added with a descriptive term of “classic” or “original”. In case we talk only about a pair of releases, the description may also be specified with calling it a “prequel”.

If the creators of the series (Bungie) didn’t think it was meant to go by numbers, why would they apply numbers to the following two (three depending on your opinion of ODST) titles in the main storyline?
The reason there was no “1” for CE is because Microsoft and Bungie didn’t know how successful CE would be. Kinda embarrassing if something is labeled as the first of a series, implying a sequel, and then having it tank.
Additionally, putting the “Combat Evolved” subtitle was meant to give buyers an idea of what the game was about since “Halo” doesn’t explain much.

Microsoft has said they want to continue the franchise for at least another 30 years. I believe this was back around the time of Halo 4’s release. Halo is here for a while

They just need to take a break, take a fresh air, they are babybottling this Halo to the point they will suffocate. People also get tired of chewing on the same stuff all the time, thus they can migrate, taking away the momentum and the experience they have gained working in the team. They must let go enough to be able to relax.
I hope it will end with Halo 6.

and like tuhin94 wrote 343 wants halo to be around for at least 30 more years, at the time of 2013. even if I’m wrong and they said that more recently that’s still at least twenty five more years, I think 343 has a MUCH bigger plan figured out and that they just want us to think they don’t have things together then all of a sudden surprise us with more! but then again that would be a trade off of fans for surprise. Also 343 has said at various in the past that they have master chiefs death planned out. and if they want to be around for another 25 years; master chief is not dying any time soon. I have friends and family who “stopped playing halo after you stopped playing as Maser chief.” that would be around halo 3 ODST’s or the first halo wars, and now there’s people saying halo 5’s campaign is more Locke. I think this is on purpose. I think they want master chiefs doings to be kind of unknown. now I do think they should at least make a side game or the next halo about how chief reunited with blue team. I know I know, there are books about that but not every one reads the books or knows about them like us. Halo has been my favorite since CE came out in November 15th 2001. but I want to see Halo do something exciting with master chief. id don’t know if anyone agrees with me or not but Master chief should have DESTROYED Locke when they battled in meridian or where ever those tele porters were. #no offense Locke, but Master chief will forever be the main character (although master chief looks cool with a crack in his helmet.). Another thing we need Brutes back, in normal campaign nut just in the halo wars series. I cant wait for the Halo 6, and the other halo games that I’m 100% confident will come out. and when they do come out. . . # just got next halo/ party time. I want to see halo destroy final fantasy in numbers. Halo is the reason Xbox is still here, and I believe they don’t get enough credit for when everyone else says “you cant make a shooter on consul” and you do it any way and look at them now there still going loud and strong. Halo deserves to stick around. and I will be here with them while they do.
@Halo Spartan092, you are right, Halo is too big, I say even Halo will survive Microsoft, y’know. So no need to worry about Halo. Lets worry about Microsoft.
