Halo 6 Theory (SPOILERS)

Yep, it’s that time. (SPOILERS AHEAD)

343 has said they want to explore Master Chief’s humanity more. This leads me to my theory of having the Master Chief die by the end of Halo 6. What I mean when I say this, is that John will live. Similar to how the Dark Knight Rises ends, where Batman dies but Bruce Wayne lives. Master Chief will be forced to kill Cortana in Halo 6, and along with her will be what we’ve seen of him in the last 5 games, a man in a suit; a machine. The armor will be put up, and John will live on. We will finally see the face of the hero we’ve been on an adventure with for 14 years, and that will conclude the Master Chief Saga. The Master Chief will be a legend for other Spartans throughout the entirety of the Halo Universe, and a new Spartan will take the spotlight, possibly Locke, for future Halo games.

This is just my theory, though. The story could be told a thousand different ways, I’m sure. What are your thoughts on what the future holds?

I agree with you. That or they are going to kill Chief and continue the franchise with Locke and the Arbiter, or possibly Buck

Buck is awesome. I’d love his own stand alone game.

I would think it would be an appropriate time to bring back the flood now that Cortana is in control of another halo installation somewhere. She could use it as a threat, or that maybe she could go rampant as her rampancy may not have been completely cured as she thought, accidentally releasing the flood back into the lives of many people. The forerunners locked the flood away, but would be a good weapon to use. Even if Cortana is evil I would guess that it will take something emotionally scaring in order to bring her back to normal, maybe the death of someone she knows. If no one can reason with her which looks as if it is going that way then the covenant, humanity and other alien species should team up to take down guardians at a time. Like it said at the end halo 6 would start at sanghelios or definitely involve it so maybe everyone is gearing up. But I feel that someone will die in the upcoming games.

I don’t think I could continue to play Halo if they killed Master Chief and Cortana. They have been in Halo since the beginning. Spartan Locke is interesting but he can never replace the Chief. But we all know Chief will have to die eventually, but I never thought so soon.

My suggestion is find a new company to make the game, plenty of games developers out there.

I think if they retire the Chief rather than killing him completely, it’ll give them the chance to bring him back in the future if ever needed. He’ll be alive, but enjoying the human side of what little life he has left somewhere on Earth. Locke just got his debut game, I’m sure he’ll become more interesting in the future. He has to fill some pretty big shoes after all.

that is a possible ending for Chief.

It’a gonna happen in 7 or 8. They said 3 games isn’t enough for their plan, thus the Recailmer saga not trilogy

chief should never die, people can argue that halo isn’t just about chief. but to me chief is and has always been halo probably another reason i couldn’t stand reach.

I agree. Unfortunately all good things must come to an end. We shall see what happens.

All I can say is that I really hope the Cortana storyline pulls out some kind of massive twist. The whole way through the H5 campaign (especially considering the way she kept smacking the Warden Eternal down) I was expecting her to be tricking the forerunners and secretly working to bring the guardians together and destroy them. Really hated the way things actually happened.

That said, perhaps using the guardians as a loaded gun isn’t that bad an idea in theory. It could usher in a new age of peace and mutual progress across the galaxy, provided that power isn’t abused. The problem is those last 5 words though…

Good theory

I agree that would be a good way for it to end and contnue

Locke was kind of handled poorly though, hes technically portrayed by two people now. And that complicates things in the future, it’s very awkward to have mike colters face with the newer guy doing the voiceovers. And for Halo 6 or any further games they will have to pull the same thing again or it’ll get even more weird. I can’t help but wonder if Locke would have been different if Colter stayed on for the voiceovers. Colter came off as being kind of cold, but honorable and serious about his job. Whereas the new actor just seems like kind of a nice dude. The other 3 spartans in Osiris served almost zero purpose except to allow 4 player co op to seamlessly work into the entirety of the campaign. There was little to like about these characters, it was like an avengers movie or something. Blue team was handled very well though, I think.

Mike Colter did do the voice over work for Locke.

Edit: Wait, no, you’re right. Haha my bad.

I love Chief, but honestly, I want him to die a heroes death. He HAS to die by the end of this saga IMO. Also curious as to who will be voicing chief from here on since Steve Downes retired at the conclusion of Halo 5.

I think that would be a bit extreme to get 343 out of the picture. They just want a new beginning by replacing the Chief with there own heroes. I find it hard to believe they would be stupid enough to kill Chief and Cortana, but its their game now.

The developers need to be extremely serious about making Halo 6 the funnest, most exciting, most mysterious fps ever. I doubt they read these posts and only offer what they want to offer. They’ll instead advertise you what you want, but give you only… Hmmm 2/3rds. We want a minimum 95% awesome halo game without exception 343

I think alot of good and bad chracters will die in halo 6.Hope arby survives
Cortana owns a halo ring (legendary ending)she has every guardian under her command, prometheans, the warden several hundred AIs who knows what else
On the other hand we know that infinity survived,Arby and swords of sangheilios,(perhaps remaining covenant),Palmer,Halsey,Blue team,Team osiris,(mabe flood)
It seems certain that this will be the most interesting halo game yet
343i have already announced that they know how chiefs story will end
What i think is that chief will have to die to stop the guardians and cortana becouse (for example) he was the true prophet and since he’s the reclaimer
As for arby he may likly die in halo 6 from being vastly outnumbered and buys john some time like the episode of “halo legends the duel” but he may survive hopfully its 50-50
Halsey,palmer likly die
Locke might survive tanaka and buck might die vale survives
Blue team survives (becide for john)
covenant likly die unlikly live 25-75
Infinity might end up like forward unto dawn or the pillar of autumn to destroy cortanas halo
And thats my theory
