At the end of Halo Escalation’s Next 72 Hours story arc, The Didact was composed. Now, everyone thinks that he’ll never show his face again in the Reclaimer Saga. I call -Yoink- on that. The Didact will return. But, the question is, how? Well, as of Halo 5, the galaxy is under the control of the Created and the UNSC has ran out of options to stop them. But, that’s not entirely true. As the old saying goes, “the enemy of my enemy is my friend.” What if the Chief finds a way to make an alliance with The Didact? Now that he’s composed, The Didact is as powerful as Cortana. He would be the perfect weapon against the Created. However, not many members of the UNSC, not even Locke, would agree with him. This would force the Chief to go AWOL again because he has run out of options and he wants to protect humanity any way he can. This would force everyone to think that the Chief is truly turning traitor. Which is something that The Didact would want to further his own agendas. So, whataya think about this?
I think that storyline could work. Seeing as how the Forerunners were trying to destroy the flood in order to prevent total control, I could see the same thing being done to stop the AIs’. It would be an uneasy alliance and I feel like the Didact would kill Chief the first chance he gets, but Chief is smart and would have a counter plan. He would try and save Cortana one way or another before the Didact has a chance to eliminate her. But yes, would make for an interesting storyline.
I don’t think a team-up between the two of them will happen, as the neither one feels to great about the other. The Didacts time is over, I think. If he does appear in Halo 6, I’m betting he will die somehow.
With Cortana’s Created and the Guardians running amok, I think it would be the perfect opportunity for the Didact to redeem himself in Halo 6 for his actions in Halo 4 by allying himself with the UNSC and the Swords of Sanghelios to fight against the Created.
Problem is, how can he be “put back together” after being composed by multiple Composers?
