So with Halo Canons breakdown and soon re-evaluation of Halo 5, though impressed with MP, I have to say after viewing a breakdown with someone with more knowledge about Halo (even though I can recite the entire Halo CE Campaign by heart) that Halo 5’s Campaign was like a puzzle with lots of missing pieces. So much information about the Warden and species just as the Forerunner Soldier were left out. However more though out I feel the Campaign could have been. I’m hoping for a lot more from 343 with Halo 6 or whatever the official name is. Have MORE Blue Team missions, and even them out with Osiris missions. Tip of the Spear from Reach with that giant battle in the background of the level. Players want something like that 343. Halo 5’s Campaign was a huge oversight in the potential that it could have been.
Same with Halo 5’s MP. With the various Forge pieces, you gave us placable, technically flyable (with vehicle welding) Pelicans and ODST Drop Pods. But what if for BTB, player initial spawn points could be dropping out of the sky in ODST Drop Pods? With the amount of Forge pieces available, a Veteran Forger could possibly make a Battlefield-ish scale map complete with balanced vehicles and weapons. A spawnable flyable Pelican that players could use to rain down on enemy players, could even add possibilities of amazing flag captures or bomb placements in CTF or Assault or even more challenges to base defense. I know that Halo isn’t Battlefield but Halo 5’s Forge outclasses what even Far Crys map maker could do. No one in Halo 3 days who Forged would have even though that Forge would evolve as much as it has.
Even with Arena, balance out the competitiveness and casualness 343. Add enough un-ranked playlists to give non-competitive players something to do, but don’t overtune the nature of Arena and make it over-competitive. It defeats the purposes of wanting to try it out. Lastly, Memories of Reach, you gave us dead Sanghelli for Forge Pieces and that’s cool but playable Elites would be better. You know the amount of players that played as Sanghelli on Reach and Halo 2, and Halo 3. I’m sure you could add playable Elites for Halo 6 343 and even have some more Forge Pieces such as a Covenant Supercarrier or UNSC Flagship to give it a Covenant styled theme for some Elite VS Elite matches or UNSC style themed for Spartan on Spartan. I would love it completely flying out of a Supercarrier and getting dropped off at base in BTB or even in Arena, perhaps a Pelican entrance or Phantom entrance through an airlock and then zone into the map upon match start. Even for Warzone, on a Covenant themed map attempting to retake a city on Sanghellios from remnants of the Storm Covenant with Swords of Sanghellios replacing Marines.
A bonus throw in, to the Halo CE Magnum and the Halo 2 BR, theres potential for classic settings 343. Classic Gametypes, and Classic Maps. Why not have a playlist specifically for that classic Halo experience? An easy tweak of some settings and disabling Sprint is all thats really needed. 343 you know the potential for Halo, but the players do also. Yeah some of it maybe be negative, but with Halo 5, that negative feedback could a huge improvement to Halo moving forward and gain so much potential for it, and now that you have the capability to add things to Forge, to Warzone, to Arena…the possibilities are through the roof.
