- Cortana is actually still corrupted by the Gravemind.
- The first trailer we saw with Chief on the sand is actually from Halo 6 and the Guardian that rises is really controlled by Medicant Bias.
- Chief still carries Cortana’s Chip in hopes of using it as a Pokeball to catch her.
- Cliffhanger with the Flood zerging from outside the galaxy. Bornstellar shows up with the Forerunners that fled the Galaxy and his children (100.000 years of procreation with the new Librarian must’ve lead to thousands of thousands of forerunners babbiiiess).
This feels like the most obvious route 343 will take the narrative, but I bet there will be more to it.
I feel the need to point out 2 things:
- The Trailer is 'non canon". It’s artistic interpretation.
- The chip went “Boom, Boom” with the Didacts ship. Granted this could just be a new manufactured chip… but it really doesn’t matter.
I love the Pokeball idea, though.
So what, he’d use another AI to fight Cortana first, like in Pokemon?
“Roland! I choose you!”

Well the trailer could be Canon, if it is actually after Halo 5. Either way, something tells me Halo 6 will be the worst Halo yet. Halo 5 had the worst narrative I’ve ever seen in a Halo game. Instead of wasting money on fancy motion capture, they should’ve wasted money on a good writer.
-
Could be Gravemind or the Warden Eternal as the Logic Plague can go from AI to AI.
-
I know that the Flood will appear as you describe but, 20 years of Halo? This is their endgame and I don’t think that will happen in Halo 6. More likely we will see an appearance of Flood and allusions to their influence on the events of 4 and 5. ie they corrupted both the Didact and Cortana.
-
I can’t see them investing resources in models and units for an allied faction. They tend to focus on enemy units. Why we saw only basic elite units in Halo 3. So I can’t see them creating a Forerunner faction with flesh and blood ones. If they had wanted a true Forerunner return then Halo 4 would have had all of the Prometheans be Forerunners or had an army of organic Forerunners. I think the way the Librarian describes things is that, very much in the vein of the Tolkein Elves, their time has passed and the Reclaimer Saga is about passing the torch. I mean why have the Prometheans (who are human AI BTW) as the Forerunner faction?
-
I think we’re more likely to see allied Prometheans being controlled by Cortana. Again, if its Halo 6 or later I can’t say but I think ultimately thats where they are going. The Librarian said that Cortana would have a role in humanity claiming the Mantle and created a geas for precisely the purpose of creating a Forerunner AI.
-
One little theory I have is that Cortana can be cured of the Logic Plague in the same manner as curing her rampancy was described in Halo 4. ie Use Halsey to “recompile my neural matrix”. This makes sense as they are suggesting that Halsey will have some sort of role and her hatred for Halsey would be ironic/threatening because she is the only person that can cure Cortana. In fact, I strongly suspect that Halsey will actually scan her own mind, possibly against the wishes of the UNSC and this is why she has the conversation with Locke in the Halo 5 intro “to kill us both”. Its actually a bit of future dialogue. So she is actually recovering from that ordeal and referring to Locke being ordered to kill Cortana and herself.
-
Also, shes going to put a Composer into each Halo array and use them as terror weapons to police the galaxy. Literally becomes the world burner.
-
I think the Covenant enemies we fight are probably going to represent those who have joined Cortana because they think she must be some sort of Forerunner deity. Because, well she controls all Forerunner Tech.
Don’t forget about Sali 'Nyon’s Covenant, they’re still out there.
My prediction for halo 6… A game that I look into that if it doesn’t meet a simple standard for a halo title. (Which halo 5 failed.) Isn’t going to be near my house.
They Seriously planning something special… Not sure, but could it be the death of Chief?
Listening to the intel by an unknown forerunner builder ( Faber perhaps?), the location of bastion, the second ark where Bornstellar has gone seems like it should play a part in the game’s future. How and why they are implemented I am still unsure but the hints are there. Also, I believe the gravemind allowed Cortana into the domain and has corrupted her as with Mendicant Bias, ultimately to find the last of the remaining forerunners.
Well there really isn’t much of a threat of the covenant anymore, Jul’s faction was the strongest by far. I don’t think the covenant will really be a threat in Halo 6 and if they are they really should bring Jiralhanae or has another User mentioned, “hope there will be the return of a Jiralhanae-Prophet coalition or something” It’d be really cool to see brand new brute weapons in the next installment since the only one in Halo 5 was the Gravity Hammer. Bringing the flood back would be interesting, To be honest fighting the Prometheans isn’t all that exciting, don’t get me wrong though because Prometheans look really sick and their weapons are really cool. It would be cool to see some remnants of flood, or to actually fight a gravemind boss or something. Prometheans will definitely be the main enemy force in the next installment, plenty of those guys. Actually it would be really sick to fight a Guardian as well. I’m actually not looking forward to seeing more alive forerunners, it’s just me but I don’t like the idea of that.
So that’s my two cents on this subject.
Quick summary
- Covenant will not be much of a threat
- Hope to see Brutes
- Cool to see flood, boss fight with Gravemind
- Be cool to fight a Guardian
- Prometheans main enemy types
- Not liking the idea of more alive Forerunners
Halo wars 2 is coming out as well. Perhaps the spirit of fire might help fighting the guardians and the halo wars 2 storyline is about getting to the infinity. Why else would 343 release this game now?
People are gonna die that’s my prediction. Now what I want is a flood infested infinity, but hey that’s me
i see the flood making an appearance
a notable character dying (halsey?chief?)
chief showing his face
spirit of fire showing up
What the heck. Shoot for the moon:
- Cortana is revealed to be a pawn of the Precursors. She uses her position to covertly spread the logic plague across the Created, and provides transport and resources to dormant Flood specimens wherever she finds them - By the Precursors, I mean the Gravemind. It returns, to once more consume all life. - Mendicant Bias, seeing this unfold, liberates the UrDidact from his prison upon the Composer Forge. The Didact, housed in a specialized and awesome Promethean-style bod with Mendicant Bias as his ancilla, sets out to reach the Lesser Ark, so he can end the Flood and humanity in one stroke. To make this plausible, he seizes command of the Covenant remnants, who rebel against the Created when they learn of the Flood’s involvement, and choose Sali 'Nyon as their leader. - A mysterious message offers aid to the Infinity and coordinates. Upon follow-up, they discover the Forerunners – IsoDidact leads them, with Offensive Bias as his buddy. In the face of galactic siege, the Forerunners come to aid humanity. - Cortana and Gravemind set about tearing apart the Array, the foremost threat to their power. This is not as instantaneous as it would seem – every active Monitor refuses to cooperate and reveals that should any attempt be made to disassemble key facilities, the Monitor is bestowed full authority in defense, and even may fire the ring if it deems it necessary. Both Didacts separately learn of this, and the Monitors of these rings don’t care which of them helps, as long as someone does something. - Humanity and the Forerunners have retrofitted their technology to operate as little by digital software as possible. Roland and the countless dumb AIs of Infinity’s fleet manage the ships and protecting those from hacking. Roland, on the flip, deals with bouts of uncertainty, which Lasky helps with. Roland surrendered a lot by refusing to join the Created, not the least of which is eternal life. - What we get is a plot with multiple factions making everyone’s jobs difficult – Cortana & Gravemind with their machines and Flood, UrDidact & Mendicant Bias with their Covenant, the independent Forerunner installations with their sentinels and general apathy, and the joint faction of the Swords of Sangheilios & Infinity & Forerunners - The return of Guilty Spark with the ONI ship he stole, and the Librarian. They bring information about an ancient human installation that no one ever discovered that, in some way, provides a real solution to the problem (perhaps it houses the fabled Organon) - Some kind of final showdown at the Lesser Ark, between the Warden Eternal, UrDidact, IsoDidact, and Chief. The ring Monitors have divided their loyalties between Cortana and both Didacts, depending on whether or not they were left to be captured or were rescued.I don’t think any of this actually will happen.

This is a well thought out progressive storyline. It is enjoyable especially as most characters are recognize able to the average halo gamer, and they could tie in an excellent scifi lore fest in game without pivotal reliance on EU. The Ur-Didact is well known enough now that he needs no larger explanation, only the IsoDidact and Mendicant Bias would require in game exposition.

Did not the other factions join the SOS to fight Jul? Also I think the banished are gonna have a big part in Halo 6, unless 343 kills them off in Halo Wars 2
