Halo 6/PC/Hype Train

Anybody else excited for Halo to be supported on PC? Honestly surprised Halo 5 didn’t get the full port for PC but anyways.

With this new engine I wonder if it will be well optimized for the majority of builds PC players have to increase their player base. Just in the video the game quality from a visual view looks top notch.

Also I can see PGL maybe picking up Halo again as a focus if the game comes out at launch for PC.

I’m just overall excited. I played up to Halo 4. Stopped at Halo 5(played one season and got to diamond then stopped.) i’m Ready to get back in the fight and enjoy it on a platform that has been begging for it.

Another worry the windows 10 platform is not the best so that might detour people from getting it.

I might play it on PC, but will most likely stick to Xbox. I’m happy for the fans that no longer own an Xbox but still want to play Halo. It’s a good way to capture a bigger audience that Halo has been ignoring since 2007 (the release of Halo 2 Vista). While Windows 10 may deter some PC players from buying the game it does have the benefit of Xbox Play Anywhere. Overall it’s going to do nothing but good for the game.

As for wondering about PC optimization I’m sure this new engine was built with that in mind.

I really hope so, the pc community doesn’t care about high end crazy graphics just it being easily run able and smooth.

I would say that statement is entirely false. A large group of PC gamers seem to only care about graphics.

I would say that statement is entirely false. You can look at the most popular games on PC, they’re not exactly the most graphically stunning games. The reality is that only a small portion of PC gamers even have the hardware to care about graphics at all, and nobody’s going to pass a good game for its graphics. That’s just a silly stereotype of PC gamers, and isn’t founded in reality.

Never really been a pc type of guy,but halo 1 was on pc and was pretty popular so it makes sense for a franchise such as halo to again be on pc

I never said the majority of PC gamers were like this. I said there is a large group of them. A large group that gravitates towards RPG and FPS games because of their graphics; a crowd Halo would be drawing on due to its generally stunning graphics. Stereotypes are usually grounded in truth of a extremely vocal (and usually annoying) crowd that doesn’t necessarily represent a larger group of people.

A lot of PC gamers just want to have fun like us, but these people do exist.

There’s a difference between caring only about graphics, caring mostly about graphics, and just caring about graphics. Nobody falls in the first category, and I don’t believe anybody falls into the second category either. I still don’t know what group you’re supposed to be talking about. Sure, maybe there might be some dozen people out there who don’t touch anything without cutting edge graphics. I mean, I haven’t interacted with every gamer in the world. However, the group you’re talking about must be very small, because I’ve never seen a person like that, and it’s not reflected at all in the most popular games in each of the categories you’re talking about.

Only Way I’m switching to Halo 6 on PC is if competitive play switches over to PC which it should. This is the only way I can see Halo becoming competitive in today’s eSports. It has endless potential! If Halo does this right it could gain a massive following.

Okay, maybe I was exaggerating a little bit. Of course people care about gameplay, but there are a lot of people who will discount a good game simply because it doesn’t look good. I find it odd you’ve never met someone like this. A large bit of this group are people who won’t play older games because of the graphics. Either which way I doubt it will affect Infinite’s population base that much. The game looks beautiful (at least the engine demo does).

Then moderator nailed exactly what I was about to say.

I am. The more people that get to play the better.

EDIT: What’s PGL?
