343, the entire community has been asking for this for more than 15 years. We want a flyable phantom and pelican in forge, customs, and multiplayer. We’ve been asking for so long and before it was understandable why it could not be done, the technology could not support a map large enough to hold a massive amount of players to make the pelican and phantom worth while in multiplayer. However times have changed and we have the technology now (especially if halo 6 comes to PC). The time to finally bring these vehicles to multpluaer should be halo 6.
To make it work in multiplayer the game mode would need to make warzone look like crap (personally a 30 vs 30 btb would be fine for me) and the map would need to be insane and incredibly detailed and fun.
Perhaps make an old mambasa map? You could recreate the scene from halo 2 were the warthogs and the pelicans led by Johnson are going down the highway to attack the covenant, you could recreate that in multiplayer!! To make it even more insane you could have destructible buildings and bridges, you could encourage communication by having team mates get reinforcements from other team mates in pelicans.
Imagine, you’re under fire from the opposite team in an urban city and they are closing in, next thing you know a pelican overhead drops a warthog off for you just before it gets shot down and you make a quick get away to your base for one last stand. Or maybe you could be an elite attacking a UNSC outpost on a halo ring, you have a massive armada of banshees and phantoms bearing down on them, it could be like the fall of reach but in multiplayer!
But what would really make this an amazing halo experience would be ODST drop pod spawns. When you die you could have the option after 10 minutes to drop from low orbit in a drop pod and take out the enemy by dropping in behind them.
I’m pretty much asking for a halo mode that implements everything cool that halo has had but instead of keeping it in the campaign, you bring that cool stuff to multiplayer.
If 343 were to bring playable Pelicans and Phantoms, they have to be gunship variants so the pilots can fight on their own. We also need maps bigger than those in Warzone to accommodate multiple of those beasts.

All the more reason to bring back maps like Forge World…or theoretically we could make them Forge only.
