Halo 6 needs more cinematic multiplayer maps

I am not talking about Forge maps here. But, compare the Halo 5 multiplayer maps to Star Wars Battlefront for example. Where you have these insanely beautiful and authentic maps that really put you in that universe. Then you have things like the Battle of Jakku where there are dozens of ships falling from the sky and these big set piece things going on. For me this really makes the game, even though its pretty bad to play IMO.

Basically, a lot of the Halo 5 maps are essentially quite plain and a little bit boring. A few like Escape from Arc have neat gimics like the ocean being held up and the new Tyrant map is extremely good with the asteroid field and the shattered planet. But most are UNSC, drab and I often feel like I am fighting in a warehouse. Even the bigger Warzone maps tend to be quite conservative. I mean the new map, with it being set post war on Meridian I kind of expected to see a Guardian hovering in the background but instead its kind of like everything is a warehouse. They don’t even use any of the campaign settings and locations (the assets of which are already in game) for the Sanghelios mountains or Sunaion and I think theres only one for Genesis. Surely they could make an arena map on Sunaion or in the ruins of Sanghelios? Or a Warzone map on its deserts and temple complexes? I mean theres still a real absence of Covenant and Forerunner maps in general but you get my point. For a game with such a big setting they seem reluctant to create maps that put you in that world and that are visually impressive. They’re technically very well put together but I really hope that with Halo 6 being this big war that they up the game with the map design. I think people do prefer playing on interesting maps as well as competitive ones.

I dont see a point honestly, I play multiplayer not to feel immersed but to play a balanced game. Aesthetics are not that important honestly when it comes to multiplayer, for me atleast

See for me that immersion simply makes the multiplayer a lot more enjoyable. I mean, for example, Bad Company 2’s destruction is mostly superficial and not related to gameplay. But, the simple satisfaction of all these pyrotechnics going off and seeing the physical impact of your fight is a very enjoyable aspect of the game. There is a gameplay element obviously with creating and destroying cover, creating new paths and gun points. However its that immersive element that means I personally consider BC2 infinitly better than later iterations of the Battlefield franchise. I mean I was so put off by BF3 that I didn’t even get any of the new ones.

That’s not to say you can’t have a perfectly balanced game in a warehouse. Its just, you can also have a perfectly balanced game in a nice looking and interesting map.

I agree, Ive played on some forge maps with Pelicans constantly flying around the map in circles. I wish we could have a bit more scenery and variety in our maps. I’d love more skybox options for forge. Imagine if they added the Truth skybox to Parallax?

I agree. They could have been much more creative,
