Halo 6 Needs and Removals

Halo 6 seems like its gonna be a major indicator of the direction the franchise as a whole is heading and with that being said here are the needs and removals Halo 6 needs if it wants to improve over its counterpart**. NOTE THIS LIST REFLECTS COMMENTS SEEN ON HALO WAYPOINT AND SOME PERSONAL OPINIONS!!!** Judge at your own will. Statements based on my opinion will have a * right before the statement.
NEEDS:

  • In game File Browser - Fan Favorite and Staple Playlists at launch - Enticing campaign with “ooohs” and “ahhhs” all throughout. - Basic Features at launch (U.I, detailed armor customization) - Better Req System U.I (More organized armor and weapon sets, customizable loadouts) - __*__More unique or new gametypes prior to launch - Improved Forge - Improved Warzone experience (Better A.I, More variety of bosses, More Balanced, Better Maps) - Split Screen - Improved Radar - *Better Soundtrack - *Better Campaign Maps - Better Network System and Better Matchmaking Services - Halo 2-3 Ranking System (Seriously why do they want to dodge this system?)Removals:

  • Microtransactions (Highly Unlikely) - Current Ranking System - __*__Sprint (Highly Debatable) - *Clamber(Debatable) - *Less sticky aim and bullet magnetismWhat do you guys think? Do you agree? Share your opinion and I’ll be happy to respond.

Remove Spartan charge, ground pound, smart link, and req all req variants (ok, that may be pushing it, but at least remove some because the REQ system needs to be decluttered).

Add more covie vehicles (3 is just not enough), UNSC air vehicles, more Forrunner vehicles (really only 1??), and less sweaty multiplayer.

Spartan Charge is meh in my opinion, ground pound is more like a style kill and is pretty difficult to pull off so I dont really see a need to remove it. I would really love them to remove req items because there is garbage floating all around the req system however I find it very unlikely due to the fact that it will make unlocking items a lot easier. YES, we definetly need more variety in Covie , UNSC and Promethean vehicles however I dont think it will be a major selling point for many gamers.

Warzone and the REQ system should be removed. Both eat up tons of development resources, and the REQ system is very intrusive on all aspects of the game. I’m still open to the idea of a larger BTB experience, but Warzone is not at all what I had in mind.

The game should launch with a respectable amount of game modes.

The game should launch with the current Forge, then release improvements after launch in order to save on development time for the rest of the game.

I honestly am on the fence regarding warzone I feel like it could be SO MUCH better however its also feels like a cheap gimmicky game type designed for microtransactions. Everything else I agree with though.

Better networking and faster bug fixes and optimization.

Kill Palmer
Someone more interesting than Locke to lead Osiris.
Better looking elites you know the classic elites we all know and love.

Change
The bulkiness of the armor
Put the shoulder guards/pads on the shoulders and on the biceps it just looks super goofy
Do not make the EU a necessity t understand the story.
Make Spartan Charge less of an annoyance
Make slayer/arena maps play better with 5v5
A radar of at least 22-25m

The spartan abilities aren’t going any where so instead of asking them to be removed suggest ways they could be better.

Gettting rid of bugs and glitches is a lot easier said then done.

Forgot to mention the ranking system also let me update that.

They should tone down the bullet magnetism and rework sprint. I think 343 has their hearts set on having it in Halo, but in Halo 5 I feel like I’m punished for using it.

One of my biggest pet peeves in Halo 5 is that if I lose, the game rubs it in my face with a big “DEFEAT” message. Halo never had this instigating feature, and there’s no reason to put me (and other players, I’m sure) on higher degrees of tilt than normal.

Forge is really excellent how it is. Reach/3/4 Forge is nothing compared to Halo 5 Forge. And, this is probably my own opinion, but Halo 5 has less bullet magntisim by far.

i would Love to have the AI for the covenant similar to the one in Reach! i went back and played that and it has to be the most challenging yet fair!

less bullet magnetism is also a really good idea. though the spartan abilities i actually like, for once it makes them feel like the spartans in the book, minus ground pound. charge is technically just a sprinting shoulder bash so ok, and sprinting should be in there(Spartan 2s could keep pace with a warthog almost after augmentation/before armor)

the biggest grip i did have with the campaign was the level design. it wasn’t bad, it just seemed a tad blandish? i loved reach and 2 for this reason though. it they can take cues from both 2 and reach, but work that into their art style, and then were talking!

This ranking system fixes all the issues (which made the H2-H3 System entirely broken). Working your way from the bottom puts downward pressure on the whole system, as the top players move through. That system when executed how it is intended, puts 50’s against people who can’t figure out how to pull the trigger. Not having frequent resets puts downward pressure on the whole system, as inactive players, especially alternate accounts fill up the top of the system. As the system was based on percentages, players who joined later in the game’s would be forced into a lower bracket, as inactive and alternate accounts clog the top of the list, and since they do not play, cannot rank down. We need a system that resets frequently, and puts players where they belong as soon as possible. The H2-H3 system actively prevented this. The current system’s ranks are the same as 1-50 with different names. Bronze1-Diamond 6 are 30 different ranks. They seem to b larger units though, as a high diamond player seems to be in the high 30’s to low 40’s (My own estimate) Onyx makes up 45-50 and champion is literally just the top. How is the H3 system better.

GET RID OF THE -Yoink- ARMOR! Seriously, Reach had perfect armor and customization. 90% of the new helmets are ugly AF. 343 needs to stop trying to make the armor look all sleek and futuristic and make it look more practical. No one in their right mind would wear a FOTUS helmet, and half of the helmets have slits for the eyes or none at all.

They also need to take what the pro gamers want with a grain of salt. Halo 5 by far the most competitive halo yet, but it’s also the most grindy and repetitive.

Get rid of the massive spread increase per shot on the scorpion/wraith turret.

343 nerfed all of the basic vehicles to make the upgraded versions seem that much better without being completely OP, but now the basic versions suck.

There needs to be more FUN game modes at launch, stuff like rocket race or Speed Halo. Halo has always been centered around BTB, so 343 needs to focus on that instead of Warzone.

Overall, only ranked arena needs to be super competitive, let every other mode be more casual.

Every decision that has been made in Halo 5 has been empty and without thought. :confused:

What does fun mean? Are you saying that ranked isn’t fun? Or are you trying to say goofy? I don’t understand the need for social copies of ranked playlists. Do you not play to win in a social playlist? If you don’t care about winning, then I don’t see how ranked effects you.
