Halo 6 Ideas

Halo 6 most likely won’t be coming out for awhile. But it’s a good idea to put out some ideas early. These are all things me and my friends have come up with. Just some random ideas that we thought of and some issues that should maybe be fixed (in our opinion).

HUD Customization-
This was something that came up while me and a friend were playing campaign co-op. We realized that all the characters had different HUD setups. Different colors and designs. We thought it be cool to see customization options for your player HUD in multiplayer. Being able to change stuff like color, design, and layout. You would be able to change the color like you change the color of your spartan or emblem. There would be different designs to choose from like different shield bar shapes like the characters in Halo 5’s campaign. As well as different visor outlines (obviously nothing crazy and distracting). And you could adjust the layout of different aspects of your HUD. Things like moving the radar to a different corner of the screen and or the weapons and ammo display. We even talked about the ability to swap the way your spartan holds weapons from right handed to left handed. All these things would add a new level of customization never seen before in a halo game.

Better Armor Customization-
I don’t know about anybody else, but I extremely dislike the armor system in Halo 5. Everything from how it’s earned, to how it looks, to how the menu is set up. One of my problems with the menu for the armor is its sooooooo long. I think that if they’re going to have different skins for all the armor that they need to put them in a sub menu. Pick your armor type, then the skin you want. This eliminates having every single piece of armor in a long -Yoink- list that you have to look through for forever to find what your looking for. Also, the way armor is earned is the worst. Why is it random? I desperately want the Helljumper helmet. but instead of doing a specific task and working towards it, i have to open up a million gold packs, in hopes that one day i might actually get it. And just a side note: is there really no reward for beating the game on legendary solo? After countless deaths by Warden Eternal, and i don’t even get an armor piece? An Emblem? Nothing? Just some achievements and a not that great legendary ending. Anyways, back on topic. the third thing I don’t like about halo 5’s armor is its simply just ugly. Its not that appealing in my opinion. So what are some things I would like to see changed? Well i personally favor the Halo: Reach Armor system. having to earn points to buy what you want. Even the Halo 4 system was good. Having to complete different commendations to unlock armor. A combination of the two is what I’m looking for. I’d like to see the amount of customization Reach had. Helmet, chest piece, shoulders, kneepads, forearms, etc. With a system of earning armor by completing commendations and challenges. For example: completing a commendation would unlock a certain set of armor. Then all that armor would could be equipped however you please, not just the helmet and the body.

Art Style-
This is purely opinion. But the Halo 4 and 5 art style just isn’t Halo. I get that 343i is trying to do there own thing. But the way the games look now are completely different. It just seems too bright and cartoonish. The spartan models look like plastic action figures and the weapons look like nerf guns. I doubt this is a thing they’re going to change very much. but like seriously, rough em up. Throw some dirt on them. Darken the mood in some areas.

The Story-
I have no clue what is going on anymore.

A Completed Game at Launch-
I don’t want any of the “its not done yet we’ll add it later.” Not to be rude, because 343i has added some really good things to Halo 5. But they also left a lot of stuff out. like an entire game mode (forge). Which was added like, almost 2 months later? And an incredible number of game types that we’re still waiting for. The point I’m trying to make is, you can’t make progression if you’re leaving stuff out. Its cool that they added a lot of new things. but they also left out a lot of core things. They aren’t really making any progress. They’re just replacing stuff. I would rather wait a couple extra months if it meant a full game at launch and not just a bunch of promises to add stuff in later.

Classic Firefight-
I really miss Halo: Reach firefight. It was a good way to get away from the competitive atmosphere of multiplayer. Being able to jump into a lobby with a couple of friends, customize the waves and rounds, and just have a fun relaxed time to cool down from normal multiplayer. I don’t know how Warzone Firefight will compare to classic firefight. But the thing i liked about the classic firefight from ODST and Reach was the customizability. With Warzone Firefight we won’t get to choose the map or how rounds work. If there even are rounds or if it works like classic firefight at all. I really miss this fun horde mode and i hope it makes a return as a non-matchmaking option in Halo 6.

Loadout Option-
I’m not talking about the loadout system from Halo 4 because we all know how bad that was. I’m talking about a system similar to Reach. This option would be able to be turned on and off in the game options and would allow for a selection of game specific, pre-set loadouts to choose from. This would allow for different classes in a game type like infection. An addition you could add to this would be to make it so each loadout could have its own player traits. This would allow for a way to balance classes in an infection game type. For example: An SMG that does less damage, but increased movement speed. Or a Saw with reduced movement speed. And a scout class that has a radar while the other classes don’t.

I have lots more ideas that I’ll probably talk about in another post. But until then, What are some ideas you guys have for the next Halo game, whatever it may be?

Bro, I support 100% Halo was my most treasured franchise. And might I add something else.
Map Style-
The maps just feel too small, I get that they are going for a competitive feel but come on, do they have to go shoebox style for every regular arena slayer map for each update. I look back at previous 4v4 and BTB maps that were standard and we had more space. this slowed down the gameplay and actually made gameplay more enjoyable and less predictable surprisingly, some maps even had vehicles placed on them which lead to a greater challenge for vehicle control. and change up what weapons you use on a map. A CQC map should not hold a sniper rifle! They are trying to make the wargames cannon right? so why would a spartan bring a high-powered, long-range weapon to a close quarters scenario. I guess the master chief collection doesn’t work for them either because these maps just blatantly just are not Halo maps. Only one that does remind me of an old Halo map is Torque and even still they could have made more pathways.

I want armor customization like in halo 4 spartan hub

Better Armour Customisation is what I am after. And Customisation which actually does something!

I want the Armour to function as armour would. Different Armour responses differently.
In previous versions of Halo I made the shoulder plate on the left arm bigger than the one on the right. ( I know it does nothing) but in my head if I was making armour the left/forward arm is exposed to more fire and needs more protection, as where the right/trigger arm doesn’t need that protection but does need more movement. I.e: reaching over your head to swap weapon etc. I know it didn’t mean anything in 4 and Reach but it was how I liked to make it.
I don’t like Halo 5 as the Armour is picked through req packs and the only changes you can do are colour. Which is kind of pointless.

I would like armour to be a useful thing that changes game play. I want to be able to look at a players Spartan and know how he plays. Armour descriptions are already there, they just need to expand on them. Ones have better thrusts for orbital drops, others better sensors and others more maneuverability. I read these as I’m interested in them (/sad) but they don’t mean anything.
My Idea is to give Level 0 Spartan the recruit armour with set attributes. Speed, maneuverability, strength, stamina etc etc. How you ‘unlock’ these I’m not sure, maybe as Toxic Waste 808 says through points and buying them or through completing commendations. Personally I think through commendations would be good as you get them from the style of game you play and thus unlock armour mods which help you in that.
For example. You spend a lot of time in the air in smart link or ground pound - Unlock extra boosts which let you hang for longer
Do a lot of long range kills - Unlock hand stabilisers or better HUD zoom or radar.
Do melee kills - Unlock bigger/heavier gloves/arms so you can use more power
Sprint a lot - Unlock Recon Armour which is weaker but makes you faster.
Walk into the middle of a firefighter and kill while shields are low - Unlock heavy armour which has better shields but makes you slower.
Kill using grenades - unlock a grenade belt so your load out starts with more grenades.
Die often - Stronger shield but reduced movement.
Die through a lot of Melees - Stronger neural link but reduced head movement so you don’t get crushed buy your armour as easily.
The list could go on but hopefully you get the point. Unlock/buy Armour, helmet and HUD modes which help and change the way you play. These also should change how the character looks. So in the load screen when you see the team you can see that the big/heavy one will walk into firefight, while the less armoured one with a DMR will hang back and provide long range support and the one with grenades hanging from his belt will let loose with them.
This could also extend to vehicles so as you use vehicles you unlock ways to make them more controllable etc.

This is where I would like the Armour Customisation to go as I think it would actually make the customisation useful and relevant to game play and you would have to think more about it that just thinking out this one looks cool. With matchmaking it would even itself out as well as a level 0 with simple armour wouldn’t be against a level 100 with loads. Probably wont happen in the next Halos but I think it would be Good.

-Bring back the depth of customization that Halo Reach had so each player can make themselves unique.
-8 Player Co-op so players can pick between Blue Team and Osiris
-Bring back the Flood for a Flood version of Firefight. At least make it a gametype/variant
-Epic 24 Player Scarab Warzone Gametype
