Halo 6 Firefight Idea (Proper Firefight)

So just saying, I would LOVE the Flood to return in H6. Have them in the campaign as well as have them in a proper Firefight mode. I’ve been thinking a lot about how 343 could include an actual Firefight mode instead of this bullet sponge warzone firefight. Make the Firefight for H6 more like ODST but have the customization options from Reach for customs. What they could do to set apart this new Firefight from the old ones is to make maps specifically made for Firefight (I know past Firefights did this) but these specific maps can be close to the size of Warzone maps from H5 but have objectives that you need to accomplish like in Spartan Ops from H4.

Just imagine though. Have a Flood inspired map close to the size of a Warzone or even a Warzone Assault map, 4 players trying to survive hordes of Flood with a shared lives system like that of ODST. Start off with 10 lives or so but at the same time trying to complete objectives like in Spartan Ops. Defend a computer terminal here, power shuts down, have to use your flashlight on your helmet to find a way to turn on the power. All while increasingly difficult waves of Flood try to kill you. The possibilities are endless. You could even have special REQ weapons hidden on each level to help you kill enemies more efficiently. Maybe even after completing the 4th set (the 12th round and 60th wave) like from ODST’s “Endure” achievement, there could be some sort of secret ending or something. It would be so amazing.

Of course each map would be suited to fit the type of enemies you were fighting whether it’s Covenant, Prometheans, or Flood or even a mix so each map can feel fresh and exciting.

Have you tried the new firefight? A lot of the ideas you mention are present in H5 firefight (except for flood of course). I really enjoy the new firefight, I am not sure I understand how the waves of enemies with objectives you mention is different than what you see as “bullet sponges” of H5.

Have you played ODST Firefight? You didn’t need these “Bosses” who are in fact bullet sponges to have a really good and challenging Firefight. My idea for H6’s Firefight is to make it feel much more like an addition to campaign rather than an addition to multiplayer. Reduce the amount of players to 4 so that you can play co-op or online with 3 random people, remove bullet sponge bosses, add lives, add Spartan Ops type objectives (not just kill this boss or defend this objective) actually objectives that feel like it’s contributing to a part in the lore.

Maybe even have skulls return from ODST and Reach. Also remove the REQ stations from Firefight and have random spawn points or secret areas (similar to H5 campaign) to find special weapons to use. Firefight has so much potential to be better than the current Firefight we have now in H5.

I understand what you mean now, I feel like people keep talking about after the end of H4 loving boss fights like in halo 2, and how halo 2 is the best, when its boss fight was no different - you just only fought him once haha. But I think it is very difficult to design fps bosses that aren’t sponges. Despite how much do not always enjoy fighting warden over and over again at least they created a way that he could fit in lore wise with his numerous bodies. However I think if they continue calling firefight and all MP a training simulation for Spartans they could do whatever they wanted and have it fit in the lore.

I like the objective based FF we have now but the enemies do to take too many bullets.
