Today I want to talk about my ideas for Firefight.
You all know it - the Halo 5 WarZone Firefight is not the real kind of Firefight, it`s mot a kind of Spartans Ops.
Firefight;
-Survive the rounds
-Limited lives
-Hold your position and team up!
-You don`t have to kill your enemies, your first target is: Survive that!
Spartan Ops:
-Special missions like…
-… defend objectives
-… kill that guy
-… kill those numbers of specific enemys
By the way, below are some short lines for those Spartans, who don`t want to read everything
In Halo 5 we have WarZone Spartans Ops - its not so bad when you and your teammates use REQs . or you will loose. And that is NOT Firefight!
Now the question;
How can we introduce a good Firefight in Halo 6, which is better than the Firefight from Halo Reach? [My system will work without REQ`s but I have other ideas - not for Firefight - but for other places where you can use microtransaction in Halo 6]
1. Location
In Halo 3 ODST and in Halo Reach we have locations from the campaign - and that is awesome. You always have to think to the awesome campaign. Just like Beachhead this is a link to Beachhead from Halo Reach - I and my three friends we made our own campaign. “Okay guys, Noble 6 is away and we have to defend the covenant long enough! Fight for Reach!” And that was just an awesome feeling. Youself became a part of the Halo Reach campaign. And that is one of the biggest misstake in Halo 5 WarZone Firefight. I never fight on a map which is nearly similar to “Escape from Arc”, “March on Stormbreak” or “Urban” - I don`t get a real feeling with that.
What do we need for Halo 6? The campaign location should be bigger and really huge so they can use it for Firefight - of course we need a really god campaign so that we will have a “really awesome feeling while playing” - the feeling that you anad your Spartan are a part of that campaign!
2. Loadouts/Classes
A huge problem in Halo Reach - all the different Spartan abillities - a big discussion - I just have to say “Hey guys -Sprint? Should we keep or kick it?” And everybody is like "Errr… Hell dont ask me!". The Classesor/Loeadouts in Halo Reach Firefight were just awesome. You can become an medic (bubble guy) or the rusher (who had sprint) or just the supporter with Grenade Launcher. You can easily build a really good defense with your three allied Spartans. That is awesome. In Halo 5 - well - youre just a Spartan and you have to bring your REQs with to the party - and that is really bad especially if you must kill targets in a specific time. I and a friend, we play a lot of Firefight and we totally hate it, when Spartans with SR60 and lower dont use their REQs because its “just” WarZone Firefight. And thats just bad. Okay, maybe they have not the best or good REQs but there is the main problem. The REQ-system is the whole problem of that - mixtured with the “you have to kill those guys in five minutes” it`s just bad. So Halo 5 has the worst Firefight in Halo history. You can have your own opinion but please explaine your opinion.
So what now for Halo 6?
Maybe we will get specific classes just for Firefight? Personally I will think that that would work really well. All players can be attackers or all players are a coordinated group and everybady got his/her work to do.
3. Missions on the battlefield and Rounds/Sets
Halo 5s Firefight is just filled with special missions. The main idea of that is a good base but made totally bad. But we dont have to discard that concept. ALso the “just” five waves are a total disgrace. Also you don’t have the option to play offline Firefight or costume Firefight.
For Halo 6?
How about with costume games? The first step back is sometimes better than two ill-considered steps aside. Also make it a 20-minute game with one complete set:
1 Set = 3 Rounds = 15 Waves
The Spartans have to finish the whole Set or have to survive until the 20 minutes are finished.
And now back to the special missions;
Between the waves 3-5 there can be a special kind of enemy or you have to defend a specific position but you dont have to but you would get etra weapons and higher points with it. Dont make the gameplay too fast.
I don`t want to read that text - you have a short solution? -Yes!
Halo 6 Firefight should have
- Campaign oriented maps
- No “you have to rush”- feeling
- Maybe different classes for Firefight who has their equipment strength advantageous
- No REQs* *- 6 players max. [I was able to finish Firefight in Reach alone]* *- Special missions which you can do but dont have to [but you would get higher score and maybe bigger equipment]
- 20 minutes per game
- 1 Set = 3 Rounds = 15 Waves
- Not too fast gameplay
- Commendations, oriented to the Halo Reach system [Many things to do, high numbers, high rewards]
I hope that kind of system is a system that the majority of you would like to play! I hope you would like to support my system and if you disagree, please with your opinion why you think it wouldn`t work.
