With the announcement of the Awakening The Nightmare expansion for Halo Wars 2 and the canonical, yes CANONICAL, return of The Flood, a lot of pieces r being put into motion for the story of Halo 6 and the franchise as a whole. This video by Hidden Xperia will explain everything. If this is the story that 343 has planned for Halo 6, this might redeem Halo 5’s story and connect the original trilogy ,the Reclaimer Saga, and even Halo Wars 2 in a MAJOR way. This’ll also make The Flood even far more horrific and far more sinister than they already were before.

I speculate that after this DLC we won’t see the flood again in any major way. In latest update Grim mentioned that the story will be self-contained, which leads me to believe the flood will escape for a bit, only for the banished to immediately drive them back. Making the flood return in a galactic presence really kills the importance of Halo 3’s ending.
