Halo 6 30/60 fps?

Hello fellow Halo fans! Due to the lack of open terrain in the Halo 5 campaign in order to maintain 60 fps, would it possible to have in Halo 6 that the campaign would be 30 fps, but the multiplayer would stay 60 fps? I saw Gears of War: Ultimate Edition do this and I thought it would benefit Halo 6 if it did it too. What do you guys think?

120fps or go home.

Elite booty in 1080p and 60fps? Yes please.

yes. multiplayer is where its best used. 30 fps is satisfactory for a single player experience.

I would advocate for very different gameplay experiences between campaign and multiplayer. Campaign is a great place for awesome set pieces and other crazy stuff- things like Reach armor abilities were fine in the campaign. Let stuff like that exist there.

I just want splitscreen back, it is better than 60 fps IMO. And 30 fps would allow a lot more things to be in Halo 6’s Warzone, if it has it.

Completely agreed!

I really do want splitscreen back, this could solve it if 343 implemented it

i think the best solution would be to have 60 fps, 720p resolution, and splits creen if that’s possible. The difference between 30 fps and 60 fps is far more noticeable than the difference between 720p and 1080p (which halo 5 doesn’t even achieve a lot of the time).

I agree, no point in high fps in single player if the missions are trash and small.

Yes! 60 fps should only be needed to accomplish in multiplayer. 1080p with realistic environments and textures would be a lot better in single player than 60 fps.

Does 30/60 FPS mean that you can initiate a Pistol shot at 30/60 different times in 1 Second. I know Frames Per Second is a visual thing but how many different frames in 1 second can a bullet be shot. Basically asking if you pull the trigger on the 2nd frame and I pull it on the 25th frame did both shots register at the same time or yours before mine in that single second

Halo 5 actually averages at around 900p which is still a step up from 720p. And today’s modern age of console gaming, 720p should be looked down upon, it’s a blurry mess compared to 1080p, especially for a competitive shooter. I think 343i hit a sweet spot with the dynamic res.

But stepping down to 720p from 900p to add in splitscreen wouldn’t have worked. It’s not an issue with the resolution, but the framerate. 343i was aiming for 60fps and made plenty of sacrafices to the point where it wouldnt even work in splitscreen effectively.

And I know a lot of people were hoping for better graphics, but the Xbox One just isnt powerful enough for 900p/60fps with breath-taking graphics. Take Battlefront for example. It’s running the bare minimal. 720p with no AA at 60fps (not-locked. There are plenty of dips) to achieve the graphical fidelity which is muddied by the low resolution and very shallow draw distance. (I have played both the PS4 and XBO versions. The PS4 is running higher textures and a higher resolution with better draw distance, so its kinda clear that the One is just not strong enough. I blame the need for MS to focus on Kinect rather than a full-fledged gaming machine) Gears UE looks amazing in the campaign because it’s running 30fps while MP is using weaker lighting effects and lower res textures to run at 60fps.

just get rid of dynamic resolution. If it has to be 900p let it be 900p. The game will still look good regardless. Maybe even do technical wizardry and remove grass and other details in split screen to reduce the load on the console.

that would limit the game even further since they have to put even more resources into the framerate so ill go with 30 fps unless they untie the physics with the engine and ss

Pretty sure that was sarcasm.

I think they should optimize the console and make it 1080 60 all the way around, but MP is the more important of the 2 by far.

I’m all for lower fps and higher resolution.
