The Wargames simulator is canon, but that doesn’t mean there’s been any clear explanation of the point in the timeline where Halo 5’s multiplayer takes place. Which is why I think it takes place post-Halo 5. With Infinity on the run, Spartan-IVs are training rapidly and heavily to prepare for a confrontation with Cortana and the other Created.
