Halo 5's "teen" rating

Why was Halo 5 rated T instead of M? I don’t feel like its any morally better except for Johnson’s cusing, but the assassinations make up for that in my mind.

Just a business ploy to sell more copies.

Lack of flood

The rating company changed some of its policies. Anyways, previous Halo’s have always been very light on the M side, compared to COD.

There’s no human blood. That’s literally all of what Halo 5’s M rating hinged on. That being said they should definitely add it back, Halo should be pushing to become gorier and bloodier along with taking on a more serious tone in its campaigns, not pushing to be more child friendly.

That may be part of the reason, but not the entire reason.

Lack of flood and no composer scenes= T rating

Less swearing, not as much blood and no Flood.

Really? I understand the blood, but flood disfigurement is what I’ve heard a lot of people talk about

This was discussed when the game was given its rating, and to be honest, it really doesn’t matter. If Halo was to be rated “M”, then I expect some dark themes and a darker story, like Reach. Even if the game ruined the lore, it had a darker story.

This. Composing in 4 was kinda bleh

Yeah cause that will really help things. Sorry but the lack of gore in halo isnt a problem if you think it is go play something that has that for you.

343 doesn’t control the rating. They just make the game and ESRB rates it. And the fact that it’s rated T doesn’t -Yoinking!- matter because nobody has ever looked at the ESRB rating.

Well you blatantly don’t have kids.

To sell more copies.

They are more lax on their ratings now. If you look as the past Halo games they should have been rated Teen as well.

Halo isn’t Halo with blood and guts flying all over the screen. Halo has always had a cartoonish atmosphere and a light tone in the campaigns, with the exception of the flood. If this series is going to take a dark turn, it should do so in the brilliant manner of Hunt the Truth, rather than the generic route of extra gore.
