Okay before I start, I DO NOT lag out or disconnect more than 2 times a week, so I know this is server-side. I can handle getting disconnected once or twice a week, but four times in less than 20 minutes?! Dedicated Servers my -bad word- ! 343i if you can’t even keep non-dedicated servers running properly on MCC what makes you think you can run dedicated servers on a game as broken as Halo 5? I honestly want to know, because everytime 343i announces they are gonna implement something that sounds like a good idea, they almost always botch it and turn into a nightmare! The servers are easily the worst part of Halo 5, as they are super inconsistent, and you know that whole bs banning system for quitters, the one that’s super broken because of the crappy servers? I wouldn’t be surprised if I had a 20 minute firefight ban headed my way. I’m fine with a 5 minute ban for quitting, but 343i is getting out of hand with a 20 minute ban for something that’s out of your control. All I’m saying is, if you don’t have or haven’t played Halo 5 yet, don’t get your hopes up for decent server service.

laggy now than it was at launch. Makes me wonder if it’s still on dedicated servers.

The servers have actually gotten pretty stable for me, I used to lag out at least once or twice every time I played but now I can’t even remember the last time I lagged out. Usually when I lag out repeatedly like you it’s because I was downloading something on my xbox or pc.

Wow you’re one of the like 5 people I’ve met who know my GT reference.
Must be your Internet provider - no issues here.
I can’t even finish a warzone match because the game keeps disconnecting me for no reason. Arena is fine, but I’m losing my time, reqs, boosts, because the game suddenly returns me back to the lobby screen and I have to restart the game.

Happened with me all the time as well and I have amazing internet, I can play Rainbow Six Siege and not have any problems and that game is known for having terrible servers even before its launch. H5 is the only game I’ve ever had any issues with at all in terms of connection
I love Halo 5… But I’ve gotta agree with OP.
I’m in Aus and I never search on anything but balanced because I got sick of being shot through walls and around corners. And now the only games I can match are WZFF.
If I want to consistently play a game online now I’m forced to play Star Wars battlefront. Which plays like -Yoink- and you have to buy dlc online expansions. But at least I can be consistently matched.

You would be able to tell straight away if Halo 5 was running peer to peer - you would be running into host advantage / host migrations when the host quits. Halo 5 runs on dedicated servers

Why not just go back to MCC? The servers are pretty good now, the games been patched up for the most part.

Very little issues here. 10 days logged with only a handful of disconnects. United States (Ohio). 50 down 10 up.
