Players located in Europe are raising awareness that EU users are placed in US servers 99% of the time, 343i originally stated that the reason for dedicated servers to be implemented in Halo 5: Guardians was to eliminate ‘Host advantage’ however this would only be the case if users are located within a reasonable ping parameter from each other.
For example:
If Timmy is located in Texas, US and John is located in London, England****UK (and let’s say the server is also located in the US)
• Timmy in the US will always have the advantage in competitive gameplay as for the time it takes Timmy’s packets to be sent from his Xbox to the server located in the states and back is less time than for John’s packets to be sent all the way across a large ocean throughout the states and to the server and back; Also packets are dropped over large distances you check this for yourself at Pingtest.net
This has not fixed host advantage, this has only made it an advantage for American players vs EU players, let me just state that I have nothing against US players personally I wish there was some sort of technology in place to stop latency issues however currently in this day and age we do not have this option therefore like many other games such as Titanfall, CS:GO, we would like the option to select the REGION that we will be playing on, many of the posts in another thread detail that we would be happy to wait longer in matchmaking to be placed into a competitive match if this means that the quality of the match is worth our wait.

After this request the thread has been updated with our replies and our request for server selection however since then we have not had ANY news at all from 343i regarding this game breaking issue, we have paid the same amount of money as players in the US, we love the game and we want to continue playing however how can we enjoy playing in laggy games and knowing that other players have a 200-400ms advantage over us?
The reason for my gamertag change is because it’s the truth, 343i lies time and time again and in my opinion they are ruining a great franchise, if these server issues are not fixed soon I and many others will be forced to leave.
