what’s the chances that the multiplayer game play is going to be implemented into infinite?
I’ve been playing the custom games for forge on pc and it is amazing, its so much smoother and easier than any other halo games I’ve played.
fingers crossed i guess
edit: i guess i haven’t had enough time playing it. but there are a few things i’ll stand my ground with (pistols and hit detection) but i’m realizing i’m very uneducated on the subject, sorry.
I really don’t know, but I have my doubts. Part of the reason I have doubts is due to a PC Gamer Article. The article states at one point (I’m paraphrasing here) that H5 was built specifically as a console game. From there, I drew the line of logic that H5’s advanced movement mechanics don’t translate super well to PC gaming. I could be entirely wrong about that, but for some reason I recall an interview (which of course I can’t find) where someone at 343 mentioned that H5 wouldn’t come to PC because the advanced movement mechanics didn’t translate well into PC game play. I’m no expert on any of that technobabble, so please correct me if I’m wrong. As a lay-person, it sounded to me like advanced movement mechanics, as far as Halo is concerned, won’t be easily adapted in a PC port.
So that suggests to me that H5’s movement mechanics (MP game play, in other words), won’t be appearing in Infinite. That’s not to say that ALL the mechanics are being thrown in the trash can. Just that some of them might be getting scrapped.

I’m mainly talking about the gun chemistry, how you can tell each shot registers and how certain guns (like the pistol) are go to guns. I especially love when your playing capture the flag they give you a pistol when carrying the flag, that’s a nice touch.
But yes, I can see the movement side of this. It’s very complicated and i personally cant see it coming to pc. I’m just specifically talking about the gun mechanics
Hope not, I found Halo 5’s multiplayer to be the worst in the series, I couldn’t find much enjoyment in 4 v 4 anymore due to H5 since it generally stressed me out and I never felt like that about any previous Halo game, I’ve played them all. H5 custom games on PC? I thought that was mostly dead, I very rarely seen any custom games in maybe a year on PC for H5. Halo Infinite needs to be done right for when we finally see it because I want to be able to actually enjoy playing Halo again regardless of what mode I play without it stressing me out.
Do you have any idea how much backlash they would get if they tried to ship a brand new Halo game, but instead of making new multiplayer for it they just hamfist identical gameplay to a 5 year old game? A 5 year old game that has been incredibly divisive in the community at that.
Halo Infinite needs to have it’s own unique multiplayer style that is different from Halo 5 or it will lose most of its player base after launch similar to how Halo 5 did.
I didnt like Halo 5 multiplayer. I put days upon days into just about every other Halo game’s multiplayer, but quit Halo 5 after about 3 days. I tried my best to like it, but the movement, spartan abilities, and early release aiming mechanics ruined it for me. I uninstalled the game 3 months after release and haven’t touched it since, so maybe its improved, but if it’s anything like it was when I quit, I’d be disapointed if Halo Infinite was similar.
I’d personally rather they didnt use Halo 5’s multiplayer as a base for Infinite’s.

Know how you feel, I’m the max rank in H5, there were so many days where I felt like quitting. Heck at one point I stopped playing Halo 5 entirely for about 6 months, after I reached 152 I haven’t gone near it in nearly a year. I think the only thing that kept me going was the need to finish the max rank because the game was a stressful experience and I really hope Infinite doesn’t go down that route again.

well i don’t mean a copy paste of the multiplayer, maybe more refined, there’s obviously issues with it now so it can be improved

My apologies, I assumed you meant something like how MCC works but with Halo 5 as part of Infinite.
Halo 5 had a good multiplayer set up; social along with ranked for arena and warzone. But since Halo Infinite will start off on more than one platform, and the fact 343 Industries is known for being bold with making changes, chances are they will change things up. Due to the mixed reception of warzone and my personal views, I wouldn’t mind if it stayed but I definitely will not miss it if it’s gone (was a good concept but gets old really fast).

Have to sort of disagree with you there about the setup. Halo 5 at launch was rushed. It had barely any content…and no standard BTB at launch, Warzone didn’t come till later and they were kind of patronising about the whole loot box system while claiming they were being used to fund the ‘free/delayed’ content. The way they handled Halo 5 makes me wish they had delayed the launch by at least a year, not ignored the requests for things like splitscreen. (Which 343i understand, decided to add them into all future Halo games)
I’ve had this type of discussion before but I felt like Halo 5’s content at launch was a joke since it lacked content, heck if it hadn’t been for ‘delayed content’ I think I would have dropped Halo 5 months/years back because it was a frustrating experience, I seriously doubt I would have reached max rank. Yes 343i have been ‘bold’ but that’s mostly lead to backlash and has hurt the IP as a whole to a point fans have been saying for a while that there concerned it may end up becoming the ‘last Halo’. This is why 343i needed to take a step back and rethink what makes Halo interesting, fun to play and that’s why I believe their focus with the Halo Infinite trailer was ‘hope’ because most of us hope Halo actually feels like a proper Halo game and hopefully without the predatory live service that plagues a lot of games these days.
I personally do enjoy the Halo 5 multiplayer mechanics but I doubt they will fully return in halo infinite’s campaign. 343i will most likely discard spartan abilities (ground pound and spartan charge) considering halo 5 was a game designed for console, whether thrusters will go I am unsure and sprint is another story I don’t want to be involved in (however I am leaning towards the keep side). A few nice additions introduced into halo 5’s multiplayer and campaign was hit and grenade detection which I would like to see in Halo Infinite.
I doubt they spent the last few years developing the Slipspace Engine, to only use it for the Campaign.
I imagine most of the sandbox and mechanics will be getting built from the ground up.
I do enjoy halo 5’s multiplayer, however they do need to remove like spartan abilities such as clamber, spartan charge, sprint and more. I like them to keep vehicle seat swapping. Matchmaking needs to be a lot better for Infinite. I didnt like loot boxes and the ranking system.
The skill level for entry felt low with most Halo games up to Halo 4. I could imagine a living room where friends and family could grab a controller and join in.
Halo 5 didn’t have split-screen. A dedicated team of competitive veterans was hired during development. Yeah, this wasn’t intended as a casual friendly game any more.
Now the team of eSports players are still employed at 343. But at the same time split-screen is confirmed. So it could be either way. I’m simply advising: depart from Halo 5’s sweaty 24/7 gameplay. Level the playing field. Every “casual” game will find its group of super competitive players who know how to raise the skill ceiling.
Halo 5 says to me: need to be this tall to enjoy the ride.
