Just so you know, I’m putting everything in a spoiler section because you may want to beat Halo 5 on Legendary and see the ending for yourself. For those of you who don’t care read on!
So the Legendary ending just shows one added thing to the Halo 5 original ending. I youtubed it. It shows JUST a Halo ring. Drifting in space. Could this mean something super big? Is Cortana going to activate the Halo ring and turn it against humanity? It was a pretty chilling ending but it makes me really excited for the next campaign.
Hopefully, it involves Cortana trying to activate, and us trying to stop it.
Maybe doing tasks like we saw in the older Halos, like shutting down those pylons to stop the ring from firing, etc…
She might even be trying to unleash Flood onto humanity, if there is Flood on that ring.
Either way, I love Halo microclimates.

Yes that’d be really interesting.
Quite the opposite i suspect.
Chief and friends (Locke, The Arbiter, and…?) Go on a mission to activate the Halo ring, to use it as the best and last hope to defeat an all-powerful Cortana. The campaign will revolve around navigating the thing and repurposing it to effect her specifically.
After all, the Halos were created to stop a universal threat, right?
If Cortana did fire the ring on Humanity, we couldn’t even fight back.
Super Weapon that can decimate all sentient life in the universe (or a star system) ring a bell?

When she hummed the signal the ring lit up slightly maybe meaning the “all clear” signal on activating the rings?
As a couple have touched on before I see it more of Cortana activating the flood with the Gravemind (a Gravemind, whatever)

It didn’t get me too hyped, I’ll probably just watch a lets play of the Halo 6 campaign.
If a/the gravemind did corrupt Cortana, she would not activate the rings as that would kill all sentient life. That means nothing for the flood to infect. I can’t remember if the flood is on each Halo or if it was just on Installation 4 or 7, can never remember which.
I personally beat the game on legendary and parts of it were so frustrating but I would say it was worth it hearing that ominous music as the camera drifted to show a halo ring
Well nonetheless it makes me excited for Halo 6. It makes me wonder if 343 won’t screw it up.
I’m pretty excited about how the trilogy will end. What I’m hoping for:
- A real Locke vs. Chief conflict (eg. MC trying to save Cortana while Locke wants to destroy her, assuming it’s not actually Cortana, but a rampant fragment being manipulated)
- Backstories to the characters, make us care about them
- Some more meaning to the events taking place. By which i mean flesh out the story more, don’t expect the gamer to read up on cannon outside of the video game to fully understand what is happening
Halo 4’s story telling was well done, gameplay wasn’t the greatest. Vice versa in Halo 5. Hoping Halo 6 brings out the best from both

There are A LOT of (possible) threats in Halo 6.
Guardians, The Created, Halo Ring, and possibly the Flood, maybe the Banished, Prometheans, and who knows what else.

Personally, I’m looking forward to Halo 6. Seeing as I thought 5 was going kind of well until the end! Setting up another game sort of felt cheap too me. But, hopefully they nail the next one
