Like most of the time, all of the cool things locke and chief do are in cutscenes, CUTSCENES. Yeah sure the cutscenes in this game is great by why does everything have to be a cutscene? Locke killing jul, cutscene, locke fighting with chief, cutscene, locke jumping into pelicans/ free falling, cutscene, Locke destroying the scara-er-kraken, actually that’s gameplay… So 343 guilty spark, lets have them do the cool things in game, not in a cutscene in h6
I think it would have been cool if we actually did assassinate jul mdama the way Locke did. Like thats something we could have done. But this is how it was in previous Halo title. The only time I can think of when we actually got a first person or a 3rd person scenes was in Halo 4 and then Halo 5 continued it to some degree. Like jumping off the Guardian and the scene at the end of the last mission.
Them killing Jul in a cut scene was totally lame.
Having Jul as a mini boss fight that early in the game would have been pretty cool I think. I do agree, there were a few cutscenes that I wish were playable aspects of the game. Let’s hope that pushing forward with DX12 / Win 10 / X1 improvements, we can get some of these cool things in future Halo games

I agree
Well Halo always did do a great job of making those boss fight type moments amazing. From punching an old dude in a wheelchair in Halo 2, to pointing a laser at a Forerunner eyeball in Halo 3…gripping gameplay moments. Halo 2 never made you watch a cutscene of Chief outrunning a temple getting glassed. Halo 3 didn’t make you watch as the head of the Covenant took a sword through the back.
(if you can cut through the sarcasm, yes I would rather watch Locke dodge duck dip dive and dodge his way to taking out Jul than play some contrived FPS boss moment)

but at least you didn’t have to watch him do the cool stuff in a cutscene, its like making the scarab fights a cutscene. The prophet was funny so it should be there, blinky really should’ve been a cutscene (I mean it wasn’t really epic) halo 3’s arby prophet scene should have been playing to the extent where you should be able to move your character around while this was happening.

I guess you could’ve made it like mincraft story mode, by pressing b button to duck and rb to assasinate
The Guardian on meridian with the teleporting puzzle type thing they did would have been very fun to do in the game however I don’t think the ai is able to do that with how fast it went by

I’m sure it can do it, considering warden and other prometheans stuff

But with stuff like jumping the ai slows down and has a slow animation to get down usually, instead of the usual jump you do as a player controlled character, its like with warden if you notice his ai is slow with turn targeting, he takes a few seconds to turn inch by inch before he looks at you then chases you down or charges the face laser

Why? you’d have to awkwardly look over arby’s shoulder to see whats going on. Becomes even more awkward if you have 4 player co-op and only 1 guy sees things at a decent angle.

Them killing Jul at all was totally lame. He was such an interesting character, and having him get killed just to make Locke look “cool” was a terrible idea.

hmm good point, but in cutscenes like in h2 where you were spit out of a portal in front of the prophets you need to be able to move around. Its almost impossible to get out of that in legendary since the brutes kill you so fast. But you should at least be ready when the flood comes after arby kills the prophet

like there was soo much development gone into jul in the comics and books, just to kill him off
