Halo 5's campaign sucks (my opinion on stuff)

Remember Halo CE? It was awesome, you where thrown into this awesome world and introduced to a naked blue chick (Cortana) and the man himself (Master Chief). The game was excellent, its split screen and perfect campaign provided hours/days/years of fun, it was truly a work of art. And it didn’t stop there… Halo 2 then appeared getting the world pumped for the second instalment of the Halo franchise featuring online play and a much more cinematic campaign that introduced us to many more memorable characters and a story that really dived into the halo universe introducing players to the religions and beliefs of the covenant that the rings where something far beyond our knowledge giving which in my opinion was the big bang to Halo’s community. Then came halo 3 which was just freaking awesome, there’s not much else to say. Then came along Halo 3 ODST, which was a very different campaign experience to what Halo players where used to as you played as the characters of a ODST squad slowly unraveling this hidden story. Then…then came HALO REACH which was amazing, with awesome multiplayer, an incredible campaign where you would play as noble 6 and fight alongside your fellow nobles to protect reach as long as you could. Then…that fateful day when the franchise we know and love was sold to the hands of 343. At first it didn’t seem so bad…then Halo 4 happened, to be honest Halo 4 wasn’t that bad of a game like it had awesome graphics and brought in a whole new side of Cortana that I found very interesting but it really was kinda walking in the path of call of duty with the sprint, the load outs for multiplayer and stupid didact QTE, but hey at least we got to fly a pelican. Then Halo 5 came out with NO SPLIT SCREEN, SPARTAN LOCKE, A SHORT AND LAME CAMPAIGN THAT JUST SUCKED SO MUCH (though the story was kinda cool, and a having blue team in a game was nice) and worst of all MICRO TRANSACTIONS! LIKE WHAT THE HELL! 343 was way to focused on attracting new players that in the process of doing that they um well how should I put it B*** SLAPPED THE FANS OF HALO AND TOOK AWAY OUR SPLIT SCREEN AND MADE US PLAY AS AGENT LOSER(locke) FOR LIKE 80% OF ITS 5 HOUR CAMPAIGN INSTEAD OF THE CHIEF. Like come on bro…why man why ;(. But I got to give halo 5 credit for is multiplayer cause I freaking love its PVP but Halo has always been about the offline experience man like just sitting down with your bros play 4 player split screen, or doing legendary runs on an awesome campaign that is still fun 10 years from now…but hey that’s just me I guess. Anyway feel free to tell what I said was wrong or if you disagree with me or point out things I missed, this is just how I feel about Halo 5’s stupid campaign. Sorry if there is any incorrect spelling or grammar.

Here’s a TL;DR for you people:
‘Moan moan, I didn’t like H5 campaign I preferred all the Bungie campaigns.’

While I will agree that halo 5’s campaign is kind of bad it is just to set up for halo 6. I actually like agent locke, fireteam orsiris is actually pretty compeling if you look for the Intel and don’t rush through the missions. Halo 5’s multiplayer is the best out of the halo games. I might seem like a heretic but I like the direction 343 is going in, my favorite halo games beside CE have all been diffrent from 2 and 3 (which I find fun but kind of lackluster ).

Have a great day

Here’s a breakdown for you people:
“there’s no use in posting anything about anything ever because I will be able to reduce it to a meaningless level and completely miss the point. I’ve solved the puzzle that is online forums. You can now close down Waypoint, 343.”

I’m not going to become a keyboard warrior right now. Maybe later.

It was poorly thought out, but it’d be disingenuous to say that is all he is saying. Hell, he actually says Halo 4 wasn’t too bad, maybe not to the caliber of past campaigns but it had its moments. His reasoning for Halo 5 being bad isn’t really that good though. Now, I can give you something to try and reduce to a “moan moan” kind of reply, but I think you’ll have trouble with it.

As a person with no IRL friends and a favor towards online play, I have to say that your opinion is null and void.3

JK, I think some improvements could be made, but it’s hard to outdue a storyline like Reach for example. I legit felt sad and cheated with Jorge sacrificed himself and a whole fleet of Covies pops up out of nowhere.

that burn tho.

They screwed the pooch

All I gotta say is for all those who say to “READ THE BOOKS”, cause I can already see that comment coming…
( 1 ) Past fans didn’t have to read the books to feel tied-in with past installments and enjoy the campaign, even with Halo 4.
( 2 ) This is about gaming, not reading. I know it sounds shallow minded, but not every gamer is a reader.
( 3 ) It sounds like an advertisement shill every time you say it. It’s almost like your advertising story-cut DLC.
( 4 ) If you can’t do a good tie-in from Halo 4 and we’re meant to read the books instead, then what the -Yoink- is the point of the campaign? Are the books really just a way to state missing information or is this a direct confession from Brian Reed saying he’d rather have Greg Bear or Karen Traviss take his place?

.

For me, the two problems of Halo 5’s campaign regarding the previous ones are:

  1. Lack of military sense: You feel you are doing nothing but kill and kill and kill. You only get the plot in the cinematics, not in the campaign.
  2. Too many and weak enemies: The Halo enemies used to be much less and stronger than now. That was so much funny to fight.
In conclusion, Halo 5 is just Spartan Ops 2.0 (Kill and Advance)
