Eh, with the covenant pretty much destroyed and no didact, just warden eternal playing bodyguard, it makes sense that there weren’t really threats to humanity. Although, if you wanna talk campaign, they pretty much broke it entirely because the trailers are highly misleading and the campaign made barely any sense at all.

First Halo 5 Master Chief level was a human space station. The one off here is Fireteam Osiris.

I’d say the tradition is a crashlanding of some sort at the start.
Halo CE and 2 started on space vessels and second mission after a violent crash.
Halo 3 had a violent crash at the start, it still broke what Halo CE and 2 did.
Halo 4 again you start on space vessel and then violently crash.
That is a pretty stretch of a “tradition”
It did begin on Reach and then a Pelican so that could count, I would rather they focus on plot than tradition although we are using the word plot with Halo 5.
