The game has its ups and downs, but after all it is fun to play and i love halo. Happy Birthday Halo 5. #fixWZassault
You’re one day early.
Tomorrow my friend. I guess it is getting close to birthday time in New Zealand lol
It is indeed tomorrow. I shall be celebrating by playing Destiny.
It’s tomorrow. I wonder if 343 are gonna do anything special.

Destiny is dead? It’s constantly in the top 5 games on Xbox Live (at #5 right now) after being out for over 2 years, while Halo 5 isn’t even in the top 20 after less than a year… So I think Destiny is far from dead.

Is it? Why is that? Because it released two major expansions that cost 30-40$ (you know, like many games used to do, and MMOs still do today) instead of gouging the community on microtransactions? Or is it because Bungie actually listened to the community and massively improved the game after its less than stellar launch by fixing broken systems and creating a fantastic experience with a good story with the expansions? I mean… Again, Destiny wouldn’t be in the top 5 games consistently after 2 years if it weren’t enjoyed by many many people.
It’s a surprise party and none of us are invited

They basically just released another game for the price of $30, so of course it’d be high on the list.
Bungie fixed their game…for the low price of $110. If you want to play the actual game, you have to spend $170.

People have bad tastes and love giving into Activisions quest to literally bath in cash. The DLC packs called house of wolves and the first one were ridiculously overpriced with content that could be completed in a day or 2. And no if you like the story of Destiny’s expansions then you MUST at least like H5’s story. Also it was proven that the Taken King was meant to be part of the base game, but Activision loves their money. Little kids and others continue to fall for their colossal scams in Destiny and their dirty supply drops in COD. I would rather have optional micro packs with a good fair MP than a scam that forces you to grind to gain an advantage. Sorry but H5 all the way. I hate activision

My brother bought Destiny + all expansions for 40$. Doesn’t seem like 170$ to me. But about them just releasing another expansion? Yeah, they did, but the game has still been up there in popularity ever since release. And you know why Bungie made another expansion? Because the game is popular and people wanted a major release. But it’s far from true that you need to pay for those experiences to have a “fixed” game. Nobody has to buy the newest expansion, and the game still plays great like it did before. Bungie also releases a ton of free updates, many of them with a fair amount of content. You could pay 40$ for Year 1 + Year 2, and you’d be golden. Would you miss out on some of the new content? Sure, but the game still works.
And, honestly, I think that charging people for major expansions is ok. The developers put time and money into creating new stories, maps, areas, raids. They deserve to be paid for their work. And like I said before, if you don’t want it? You don’t have to pay for it. Destiny is still a damn fun game either way, and many people seem to think so.

Oh, I see… So since people like a game that you don’t, it means that they have bad taste? Well then, here I was thinking that enjoyment of a game was very subjective. But then… I can say that people who still enjoy Halo 5 have bad taste. Does that make me right as well?
Of course it doesn’t.
And yes, Bungie made a lot of mistakes, and Activision screwed them over. Destiny, at launch, was a disaster. The story was bad, the features were meh… Of course, it’s very common knowledge that Activision forced Bungie to rewrite the story from scratch a few months before release. The Taken King itself wasn’t meant to be a part of the base game, only the Dreadnought area (that was not finished). The Taken King’s story, characters and everything were redeveloped from scratch for the expansion. Bungie didn’t just cut the area, let it sit there for a year, then release it for money without any work.
I didn’t enjoy Destiny’s initial story, just as I really despise Halo 5’s story. But the Taken King and Rise of Iron? They were quite good. But at least that got fixed. Bungie showed that they care, and they’re constantly updating their game based on feedback, a lot of it through free updates. If Destiny is a “colossal scam”, as you say, then so is every other game that releases expansions. StarCraft 2, World of Warcraft, the Witcher 3 : Wild Hunt. Because clearly releasing expansions is so terrible, right?
And you say that you say that Halo 5 is a good fair MP. Again, that’s highly subjective. I say that Halo 5 is a terrible MP, as do many people. Your claim on Halo 5’s MP being good is as valid as my claim of Destiny being good. Same as me saying that Halo 5 is bad and you saying that Destiny is bad. It’s all subjective, but that does not give you the right to crap on those who enjoy a product that you don’t.

343 listens all the time. At least they didn’t fix their game by having you pay DLC and throw weapon balance and consistency out the window with their constant flip flopping on buffing weapons or nerfing them to the ground so they are unusable.

343 hears us, but they don’t listen. Why is there still a radar in the pro tournaments? The pro players are quite unhappy with the state of this game that was supposedly designed for them. Why is there a tiny radar in the mainstream playlists? Why are there still coloured undersuits and no armour customization when it’s been proven that we can get black undersuits and complete customization? Why is Forge online-only when we were again shown proof that it works just fine offline? Where are our classic gametypes like King of the Hill, Oddball, Race, 1-flag, etc? Where are the developer BTB maps? Where are our social slayer and social objective playlists? What about a UI that doesn’t suck? Why can’t I sort customization menus by rarity, or armour sub-sections? Why can’t I sell more than one REQ at a time??? Where’s… I don’t know, everything? 343i listens?
Sure, 343i has given us a couple of things, but mostly their new content is put out to fuel the microtransaction system. With the exception of the Forge team, who are incredibly awesome, most of the “free DLC” has been there to give us a small percentage of old content that should have been in the game at launch, mediocre maps, and generally terrible REQs to entice people to spend money. Am I glad that they eventually brought these things into the game? Of course, and there are good things that have come from these updates. But to say that 343i listens is an exaggeration.
And you say that Bungie is inconsistent? Sure, but 343i is just as bad. The Halo 5 experience is always changing. The map weapon placements are always changing with the HCS, Breakout comes and goes from ranked to social to ranked again, then gets completely redone. Playlists come and go constantly without warning. Weapon balance may not change much, granted, but everything else has been far from consistent. You may enjoy Halo 5 and the state its in, and I’m really glad that you do. I wish that I could feel the same. But to say that Halo 5 is fixed? Far from it, I’m afraid.

Not doing everything you ask and not listening are not the same thing. There is a long list of stuff that 343 added because people asked. Warzone Firefight became a thing because people asked. Increased the weapon despawn time in Warzone was because people asked. The Wasp was made because people asked for a UNSC air vehicle. Many pieces and features in Forge were added because they were requested. Not patching the Forge weapon glitch was because people loved it. Lowering the REQ cost for certain items was because people gave feedback. Buffing the Spartan Laser and the Mantis came because people gave them feedback. Bringing back the original rocket launcher was because people wanted it. Adding Sanghelios style multiplayer maps came from people wanting them. I can go on all day.
Surely they’re going to do something for Halo 5’s birthday - wonder what that will be… hopefully more than just an emblem or something.

For me, it’s Battlefield 1. xD
Wonder id they’ll do anything special for it. Like a REQ pack or a related game mode.
