Halo 5s armours

If there is one thing I hate to most about the req system is the fact that it is completely RANDOM. The fact that we just earn armours by luck is ridiculous and it doesn’t make us feel proud of having that armour. In halo 3 if you saw someone wearing Recon you would immediately have respect for that player knowing that they worked their -Yoink- off to get that armour but if you see someone wearing Hellijumper in halo 5 you wouldn’t care as they just got it by luck. If you saw someone using the Lightning armour effect in Reach then you would also respect that player by knowing that they grinded like hell to get that one thing. If you saw someone wearing an armour that you liked you would ask them how they got it and it would bring the community together and would set the player a goal to get that armour but in halo 5 you can’t do that as it’s completely RANDOM. And the fact that the armour customisation is horrible and half the armour are paint jobs makes this even worse. Some armours in halo 5 are just ridiculously bad so let’s look at Seeker for example. When armour as bad as Seeker is out into a AAA game is when developers say : “Well f*ck it”. Please 343 have you ever heard of quality over qauntity. Halo 5s armours are a discrace as :

  1. You have no sense of achievement when unlocking them (except for Achilles)
  2. Half of them are just useless paint jobs
  3. You can’t customise you’re Shoulders, Wrists, Knee pads and more.
  4. You have terribly designed armours like Seeker and Cyclops

I have to agree with everything you say. Not only is the system to unlock the armours rather annoying, most of the armours are downright bad too. It creates the sensation of grinding for ever and ever just to get that one armour or two that aren’t terrible, and is no fun.

ID be fine with the RNG system if some armors were better than they are looking at you legionnaire, cyclops, goblin, and seeker

It would be better if they had a system like Mass Effect 3’s multiplayer, where there were different packs for different types of thing. You want a general pack that can give you anything? There’s one for you! Want to focus on characters? Good thing there’s an option for that! Weapons! Same there! A pack for general resupplies? There’s one of those too!

The way that Halo 5 handles the RNG system is bad, since you’re forced to buy pretty much just one kind of pack, creating a grind that takes forever to even get near something that you might want.

When I see someone with the “lightning armor effect”, I see an idiot who goes into the grifball lobby and just walks away leaving the xbox on, all day and night until he has enough to get it. No honor.

This. So much this. If most of them weren’t hideously ugly, it wouldn’t be so bad.

I wonder if 343i ran out of ideas.

Not a fan of some the designs they adopted the whale and pig helmet O_o.

i always wish i “randomly” get recon…

The randomness is just 343’s attempt to get us to spend money. I think that Reach’s system was good, because you worked towards the armour you wanted, and everything was unique. Infinite should use something similar, and for microtransations, you could buy boosts that allow you to earn currency and xp faster, but you still have to play. Also, leveling up should unlock armour too, and each piece of armor should have the same price as other armor pieces of the same type and rarity.

I hope that Seeker was an accident and you’re right about everything OP.
