Halo 5's Arena

So I have not touched Halo 5 in quite some time (since November of last year to be exact) and I was wondering if some of you more active players and community members could perhaps give me some information.

When I played Halo 5’s Arena it had the issue of all the Vanilla maps being extremely small (You could go from one spawn to the other in less that 10 seconds with sprint, possibly even less using all your mobility options) and having horrid spawns. Majority of the time players would spawn directly directly infront of your view or relatively close by which lead to god awful spawn killing, or free kills because you spawned around the corner from an enemy on low health. On average I would get atleast 2 free kills from the awful spawning system.

As I stated before, the maps were rather cramped, and an ample comparison would be like playing Halo 3’s Octagon with far too many people. Majority of the maps were just an absolute cluster -Yoink-, even after you surpassed Onyx rank. There was little to no map control in most scenarios just due to the design of the maps not allowing it and the awful spawns not picking one point to spawn enemies in, so you generally had the enemies team of 4 spread out haphazardly with the potential of either spawning in clear view allowing a kill or blowing apart what map control you had.

The question I have is, have either of these issues been addressed and fixed in any way? Is the spawning system much better than what it was originally, and are the newer maps better tailored to the high mobility of the players?

I’ve been playing since launch. Spawn killing has not been much of an issue for me. But I play at around the gold 6 to platinum 2 level. If you play in Onyx , then I would guess its more of an issue. I do occasionally get spawn killed in Swat. But that has been random such as a guy happens to run up to me 2 seconds after I spawned. I have not experienced true spawn killing like I have seen in COD, where you will die 10 or 20 times with no chance to defend your self. Some of COD:Ghosts maps were horrible for that.

SWAT and FFA still have bad spawns. Haven’t noticed spawn killing in Team Arena & Slayer and I’m generally Plat-Diamond.

To answer your question, no, all of that is still broken af.
