liked the Halo 5 beta
thought it was a good balance of old and new design (outside of aesthetics)
lead creative director of H5 is the guy who was responsible for Republic Commando
the HTT soundcloud things are well written and performed and have gotten me hyped
Guy who made the only good songs for the H4 OST is doing the entire H5 OST

They are introducing more and more of the canon within the books to the games, giving players the feeling of a larger universe while keeping it compressed to a first person shooters story telling capabilities. Potentially giving lore buffs a payout for reading the books while giving the game exclusive story guys an almost equal payout. Halo 4 did this to an extent, but if you didn’t read any of the books and didn’t look into the lore a bit more you were kinda lost when the Didact showed up. It also gives the best of both worlds in the fps space, you get the high octane mobility of a twitch shooter while having relatively longer kill times for the vet halo players. I’m genuinely excited for Halo 5, with all the ad campaign stuff going on with huntthetruth and huntthesignal, it feels almost as cool as ilovebees, though I wasn’t aware of it at the time having found out about it in 2007 I thought it was the best way to advertise for any media. The one thing that would just be the best though is if we got to see the process in which Spartan-IVs are recruited by Jun fleshed out in a cut-scene or something of the like, we did get a peek at it in Halo: New Blood and I would love to see it in motion with Locke and how he comes to be the leader of his fire-team.
I love that they are adding book canon to the games. Ive personally read most of the books (Didn’t want to read first strike) and ive been wanting blue team in these games for a while. They can be Chief’s new foil. hopefully they don’t mess them up so we can get some interesting dialog exchanges.

- 343i are good at BTB, so I’m excited to see what that’s like
- All of the new forge stuff!
I think we are in a new era of Halo with a new and better console to work with. I expect bigger things from 343i.
-smaller arena maps means more detail to said maps
-campaign can have huge less linear missions thanks to new console
-more Ai can be on the screen with the bigger maps so we can have huge battles

You’ll have to be a bit more detailed than that. How are they ignorant towards the community? What do you mean by divide the community?

They don’t visit forums, don’t answer questions which are frequently questioned (like sprint) and once they get to that question they give a half–Yoinked!- answer with nothing to back it up with.
They don’t even give their Forum Engineers (or other titles for that matter) any info anymore and that was discussed in a thread which later on got deleted for some unexplained reason.
And their ignorance with Halo 5 towards the community is that they don’t even answer questions about that poll they had where 11% said no to sprint even though there was no “no” answer in a 5 choice poll. Aswell so do they not answer why they don’t make classical maps to those who want to play on gametypes with no new abilities, pure classic, or why they even made that stupid choice.
Reason to why it’s a stupid choice is because it divides, splits the community. What if HCS is played on classic settings? Classic settings are close to a completily other game than Halo 5 and the maps they currently have in there wouldn’t work without the new SA’s for various reasons. And having forged only maps would just be a spit to the face and a complete disgrace towards the classic fans which fight so hard with constructive and backed up feedback, proof and facts to get the game they oh so wish to want, like myself.

seems like a lot of that stuff has to do with this forum and that classic thing is kinda nonsense and would just add more work and split the community, They did change stuff in halo 5 the community didn’t like like that annoying pinging sound and killtimes etc. But im excited because this gaming is actually really solid from what ive played from the beta and the reasons I listed above get me hyped.
The story has me so excited for this game. Lore is the big thing that keeps me coming back to halo. Multiplayer is fun to, but I do find myself getting away from it every once in a while.

It’s nothing to do with the forums only, it’s also 343i’s presence and responsibility to community which they don’t really do.
And how is it nonsense with the classic part? They shouldn’t put in more work which split the community, they should put in more work to make a game which knots the community back together like the old Halo’s did.
Exactly what did they do to the killtimes? So far they haven’t done anything with them but to make them the fastest killtimes in Halo so far. And yes, Halo CE has a 3shot pistol but it’s hard as balls to hit a perfect 3shot even for the pro’s and you often waste one whole mag on two ppl if not even a whole mag. Let’s not forget Halo 5’s heavy bulletmagnetism which is a compensation to the low aim assist and fast movement.
The changes they did weren’t that major anyway and were mostly bug fixes and some minor changes to the speeds of walking and sprinting but it doesn’t change the fact that 343i really cares about the community. They don’t even visit their own forums anymore, that’s how much they care. Instead they go to NeoGaf (a closed forum where you need to be approved/invited) and just post one sentence which is “I like turtles”.
Bravo is the most active with the community than any other 343i employee and that’s on Twitter, that’s just sad.
About that A.I. stuff you mentioned…Haven’t heard anywhere that there actually will be any of that in MP. Maybe for campaign but I don’t really care what they do to that because the MP is what counts on the long term.
And be carefull with that hype, 343i aren’t really to be trusted with their transparency on Halo 5 and even MCC. If you’re going to pre-order or buy on day one, good for you but I’d still not reccomend, for any game.

They are far from ignorant. They know what some ppl like and don’t like they just are not willing to give up their vision of halo to satisfy those ppl.
Ppl ask what’s the point of nerfing sprint so much just remove it. The nerfs is them trying to make some ppl while sticking to what they want of the game. I respect that. If halo is no longer your cup of tea, sure I feel bad for you but at the same time I don’t.
They arnt here to purely follow bungies exact steps not should anyone expect them too. They will take halo where they want to take it, some will leave some will follow its quite simple

The issue with sprint isn’t about following sprint or nering it. It’s more about them ignoring the statistics, facts and proof the classical players have against sprint being within Halo.
Sprint is an okay mehcanics…if the game was originally built with it and actually have mechanics that work with it like Battlefield does or CoD. The community have proven it bad not only for the franchise but also for the community and it’s reputation but once those points come up with it’s backbone and proof 343i simply come up and say “But muh immersion and opinion bruh” which is highly ignorant and selfish of the company and it’s head designers.
They know what people want and not want, yes, but not giving up on their vision when it’s been shown to be a downfall, as of yet, is just putting a blindfold to ignore the past and the community that screams for help.
How can you trust someone when they’ve cut off both of your legs and made dinner out of them without sharing it to you?

They are seemingly ignorant, that’s what it looks like from the common eye.
They can have any vision of Halo they want but it’s ultimately us, the fans that decide it’s worth and longevity and it seems like they are forgetting that somewhat.
Sprint just does not work for Halo… ahem excuse me… the type of of game Halo SHOULD be.
Now to be fair, they have cut out several bad things from 4 but a couple still remains, and they even added abit more too.
