So I just started playing halo swat ranked like a month ago and I wanna get some tips to improve. I can’t afford a pro controller because I’m in the 7th grade. I’m currently diamond 3 on swat
Here are some tips in general
- Pre aim which means that when you’re turning a corner you want your reticle at enemy head level so you can shoot immediately if you see one
- If you’re in a gunfight try and dodge bullets (crouching boosting jumping moving around)
- Get the right sensitivity and controls. When I first started out I was doing really bad until I switched to bumper jumper which greatly improved my game play.
- Boost slide jump. Change your crouch to hold to crouch. This will let you do boost slide then jump where you can cover long distances quicker. (Might take a while to get the hang of)
- Try and aim with the inner reticle. The Magnum DMR and BR have a smaller circle inside the big one. You want to aim with the small one because it makes you aim more center and accurate.
These are just a few. There’s this guy on youtube called proximity and he has some great tips so I recommend you check him out.
Pro controllers typically don’t make a huge difference - it only gives the edge in certain environments.
Honestly, I would highly recommend getting a consistent team and practicing with them. Call-outs and spawn planning are paramount to winning games of SWAT.
Know the maps, know the trick jumps, know how to play each map. Aiming itself is pretty basic, you should get the hang with practice.
Also - don’t constantly reload. As someone that plays a ton of slayer, I reload my weapon a RIDICULOUS amount of times, which is a bad practice for SWAT. Don’t get caught in a reload unless your current magazine is truly empty.
SWAT is all about reaction times. 90% of the time, whoever shoots first wins. Also, aim with the left stick.
Reaction time/learning the general spawns of each map helps tremendously.
I can go on and on about little hints like that but honestly playing with a team. If you play with friends while having fun people tend to preform better. It’s always been true to me.
