Does anyone else think this would be a perfect time for 343 to implement a permanent double XP boost until Halo infinites release? It would bring a lot more people back to Halo and the grind is already crazy so I don’t see how it would be a handout for anyone trying to reach SR 152. Would this be asking for too much?
I would support this, but I don’t even care about 152 anymore. I don’t think 152 is worth the trouble anyways considering that the 152 rewards are seriously disappointing.

Double XP is active for a little while now. They’ve been doing these 2XP events on and off for a while now. I’m fine with these events but I think full time 2XP would make a sharp spike in players but not keep long term engagement due to players levelling way faster.
I don’t think turning it on 24/7 is a good idea though. Kind of undermines the time that people spent getting there before.
With 343i wanting to reward their most dedicated players in Halo 5 with rewards in Infinite. Giving 2XP makes those rewards way less exclusive for people who spent time getting it before.
Maybe on weekends sure.
I saw the 152 reward, im 800k reamining through 146…i am actually concidering giving it a shot concidering the skin actually looks pretty bad -Yoink- imo

I get what you’re saying about not keeping long term engagement, but I kind of disagree. 152 is such an outrageous goal, that more dedicated players know of the grind, but more casuals might not. If they do permanent double, or even do what Gears of War does which is the occasional weekend of like… 10X exp, it would improve player count. Those that don’t know what the grind is might be inclined to play more for the final push.
As for those that have already earned it, what they’ve done is super impressive, but I also don’t think it’s a bad thing for 343i to reward players with extra exp now. I’m only 141 so clearly haven’t gotten close to max, but quite frankly, I think it should be something more accessible to more casual players, instead of just those that have grinded thousands of hours and games. That’s just my opinion though and I’m sure many that have earned it will differ.
I have a feeling they might implement it next year as Infinite gets closer to release

“152 is such an outrageous goal” - thats the point, only dedicated fans get it. if you need 2xp or more are you really dedicated? do you play without 2xp? if so im not sure about your opinion. seriously there has been 5 years, its not outrageous when its 30 days warzone game time on average.
“As for those that have already earned it, what they’ve done is super impressive” - you are proposing to make this not impressive.
“10X exp, it would improve player count.” - what makes you think 10xp will make halo 5 enjoyable to grind to 152? if you didnt have fun grinding it before, you wont after… anyways if you’re going to add 2xp for Player Count you will get AFK farmers and there’s already too many of them in this already heavily exploitable system.
“I think it should be something more accessible to more casual players” - why? theres the gilded target master for just this… why dont they remove the halo reach daily limit now that its 10 years later? its called Respect.
im sorry but all your points lean towards “i got burnt out, make it easy, i dont care about halo 5 and want to move on” im not sure you would enjoy reaching 152…

I’m glad someone else gets it. If 152 wasn’t such a grind, I would have gotten bored of H5 after about a year. I enjoy having a long-term goal to grind towards.

I can respect that you grinded to 152. I also know that I’ll never get there, and I’m okay with that regardless of what incentives are there. I simply don’t play enough because I don’t dedicate as much of my time to video games. My point isn’t that it should be easier for the sake of it being easier. My point is that there should be some incentive for players to play 5 more up to launch. I think it should also reward those that are close to 152 but are maybe a few short million xp away. The fact that you made it (presumably before 2xp was around) is cool and all, but I don’t think you’re a “bigger fan” or that it’s about respect. I think they created a way for people to grind if they wanted to, but that doesn’t mean it should be inaccessible to the players that haven’t, or haven’t been able to, dedicate as much time to it.
