Now though Halo 5 is definitely a step in the right direction to the original fans, I uninstalled it after 3 games.Halo shouldnt be some generic Call of Duty MLG rip off, it should be the Original halo the actual fans used to love from Halo 1-3, while also adding additional features that WORK with that same experience… rather than adding things in order appeal to a difference audience over and over again while utterly failing the once legend of a franchise. All of these abilities like Sprint Thrusters, Wall Climb, Ground Pound, spartan Charge, smart scope, sprint and even the emphasis on power weapons just takes away from what Halo is supposed to be, it all makes the environment too fast paced, its like all they have in mind is MLG. What made halo great was the map control and the nice Mid/Slow paced environment, it wasnt really complicated and it was just nice, it was refreshing to play and definitely not generic like it is today. Its like all 343 does is shove gimmicks down our throat and try to appeal to the CoD/MLG crowd, but like I said, they are going in the right direction and its definitely good that ordinance and all that stuff are gone. To me and from what I can see, many others… so far Halo 5 is generic, its not its own thing anymore, just as Halo reach and 4 were, but really, thats just my opinion, people will buy it but after a year or so will probably just drop the game because its too easy, generic and repetitive, similar to that of Halo Reach, Halo 4 and Destiny.
I don’t know I enjoyed the Yoink out of playing it.
It can’t stay the same, it must change. Look at it this way we get to have the old and the new thanks to MCC.

So true, I almost forgot about MCC. If you want the OG Halo, you can always visit the MCC.

What I find sad is everyone constantly says stuff like “evolution” as Amiibo said, but even so, this Evolution that everyone is always defending while consistently calling people like me Cry babies has led halo into ruin, if you just look at Halo reach and halo 4 sales or players who still played after a year you can see pretty quickly how our claims arent us being babies, and the thing is, the minority of us “cry babies” predicted it haha really hate people who dont listen and resort to Ad Hominem.

343 BETTER use this time to fix MCC. seems like the majority of the Halo community is on the H5 Beta and will be until mid January. should be plenty of time for them
I agree and I think thats their plan, as no work on MCC was done right before the beta that we know. They have alot of work though, MCC is kinda a steaming pile of Yoink lol. I just hope that the beta is not being used as a smoke screen for a $60 purchase that will never work corrected.

Right? The gaming industry only cares about sales, theyd pay more for advertisement in order to hype a game than to actually make a good game.
Why does “evolving” Halo mean reverting all of its unique characteristics into more generic standard features for some people? To me a true evolution of Halo would be much more than adding features that are standard in other games. Halo shouldn’t strive to be a "modern" first person shooter. It should strive to reset the bar and redefine what’s to be expected from a shooter. That to me was Halos initial appeal, and it’s a goal that the developers have seemed to abandon of late.

How is reach anything like halo 4? People overlook what a great foundation Reach had. Sprint did not make it fast paced at all. Reach had the best gunplay/ttk with an excellent medium slow pace that resembled a combat pace unlike any halo in the franchise

Theyre similar with Abilities and because of the general direction theyre bringing the franchise, and Sprint did make it fast paced, a hell of a lot more fast paced than Halo originally should be, it -Yoinks!- with the fundamentals of the game that everyone loved and just makes the game generic.
This. And yess they are different but it still feels like halo anyone who says this game plays or feel like COD is talking to just to talk. I’m a bumper jumper guy tried out default to see if I could play it as if I was playing COD it does not work. Ppl wanna talk about thruster and clamber ruining the game and skill jumpes? Far from when you chain them together the results are more rewarding than most crouch jumps in halo. How often do you use a grenade or equipment jump WHILE in combat and not just to sit on a camping snipe spot.

Halo was always about the power weapons and that is different from other FPS games. In cod you have to unlock the guns that you use where as in halo you need to pick them up.
