[begin rant] so, I tried playing halo 5 again after the infinity’s armory update, and well, the game is not even starting correctly for me. I have no Idea what 343I is doing but they need to stop! before the very first update (the BOSAL update I believe) I had no issues with halo 5 whatsoever. but it seems that every time they come with a big content update the game gets more screwed for me. this madness has to stop!!! [end rant]
ok, now off to the issue at hand. after downloading the latest update I tried playing the game. I get the Microsoft emblem with the white splash and the 343I emblem and then nothing. just a black screen with a little white circle in the bottom left corner. I kept it on for a good 5 minutes and still nothing happens. so I decided to re-download and install the game. as this had helped me with a few issues I had before (unable to play on any new war zone map from the previous update). after the installation was done I started up the game and nothing happens again. I get the Microsoft emblem with the white splash followed by the 343I emblem and then the black screen with the loading icon in the bottom left corner. at this point the game is unplayable for me. I had high hopes for 343I when they took over the Mantle of Responsibility from Bungie. but right now I am doubting that hey have what it takes to wield it. as far as I know when Bungie made the halo games there were never issues like this (then again, back then I didn’t play online as much as i do now). this game and MCC are riddled with issues previously unheard of.
I am losing faith in you 343 Industries. you are ruining halo for me.
please either fix halo 5 or give the Mantle back to Bungie. stop ruining this game for me!
I have the Digital Download version of Halo 5: Guardians.
are there any other DD owners having this issue, do Disc Owners have the same issue or not I wonder
I hope someone answers this from 343 but if not phone up the MS support team, it’s wrong that you cannot play even play the game.
As for Bungie taking back Halo, no thanks. I don’t want them to screw Halo up as much as they did with Destiny. Destiny was riddled with network issues add to that the lack of any substance, lack story and lack balanced MP. Bungie of old I will always love for creating Halo but Bungie of today are not the same company both in personnel and ethics.
343 have issues to resolve with their dedicated servers and it seems the digital downloads. Halo 5 has the need for more playlists and a firefight/Spartan Ops mode. Apart from that Halo 5 is a really good game, but you know that you just want to play the damn thing.

I have the game on disc. Since the infinity update, everytime I start up the console and try to play halo 5 it takes me to the cover screen with chief on one side and locke on the other, stays there for awhile, and then goes back to my dashboard and says it took too long to load, error code 0x8027025a. Happens every, single, time. This the only game it does this with too. Blu Ray works fine and titanfall loads right up like it’s supposed to. I’ve tried the hard reset, deleting my profile on my console & readding, deleting my save data on my console, hitting the reset option under the power management, to no avail. Sometimes one of those will work, sometimes they won’t. I still have to go through this BS EVERY SINGLE TIME I start up halo 5. It’s making me pretty pissed and not worth it to me when I can play other games that work fine. I haven’t been impressed with 343 so far. They seem more interested in pushing a product out of the door so they can make money, regardless if it works like it’s supposed to. Case in point MCC and this. Also still irritated at the misleading of the teasers because none of it makes sense to the halo 5 story. It does in a way if you allow huge, gaping holes in the plot.
I eventually just put my xbox back to facotry default and reïnstalled halo, ever since i have no issues whatsoever
This has been happening to me since firefight. I had to uninstall and reinstall a 90 gb game which is an issue in and within itself. It took me 2 weeks to install again and i was happy. The what do ya know the same -Yoink- happens the very next time i boot up halo. And now that i know im not the only one, im 100% not buying any more halos until 343i learns to make a game. In other words im never playing halo again. I was dissapointed with 4 and am disgusted by 5. 343 is horrible at making games and now that we’ve seen this 3 times (4, MCC, 5) i think they should lay halo to rest. Its honestly depressing to see a game i enjoyed go down the drain so fast, bungie and their legacy is quickly fadding. Im going to ask microsoft for a full refund because this is ludacrist.
