Halo 5 Won't Start

My Xbox One S that I bought back in January has had no problem playing games since I got it, until now. I stopped playing my Xbox for a bit because I was bored, but yesterday I decided to try and play again. I installed Halo 5 but it wouldn’t start. Also, I remember the game being large, but it was only 46.19 GB or so, maybe that has something to do with it. I have tried turning it off and on, popping out the disc, and installing multiple times. I also factory reset it last night, and installed it this morning. Still, it ‘took too long to start’. I’m really confused. If anyone knows how to fix it, please help.

Also, it’s not the disc because it worked when tried in my old Xbox One (The 500 GB black one).

Does the whole thing download or when downloading does it just stop suddenly?

My freind had a similar problem where the game wouldn’t download past 7%.

Well if you say it’s only 46gig then it’s not the whole game. H5 currently takes up 97.7gig on my Xbox one. So you don’t have the whole game. Is there enough room on your hard drive? Maybe that is why it won’t install properly. You may have to uninstall more stuff. Then uninstall H5 and then reinstall it. Or try a hard reset…hold down the power button till the Xbox shuts off unplug the power cord for a few seconds then plug it back in and relaunch the game.

Yeah pretty much this. You might need some additional storage space. I would recommend the seagate 2tb hard drive. The game is supposed to be 97gb, and if you’re at 46, then you are missing some updates.

If you are still having the problems once you’ve cleared some storage, then it would probably be best to contact Xbox Support. You can do one of the chat support options where they’ll talk you through step by step of what to do (hopefully).

Also, I remember reading about this issue on the forum before (can’t remember whether it was solved, and I can’t seem to find it again either), but if you use the search tool and can find it, your solution might lie there. I’ll keep looking for it for you…

Okay, so I solved the problem recently. I finally gave up on it, until a few days ago. I finally put the disc back in. I had enough storage, the problem is the disc was installing, but the network download (the updates added after the initial game) never triggered. It was odd but it just started working normally randomly. I didn’t have to, but I assume if this happens to you, delete the game, restart your router, and power cycle the Xbox. Then re-install it.

I installed my Halo 5 Guardians and when I going to play it, the game will kick me out.
