Halo 5 without Reach

This might be old news but it’s the first time I hear if this.

Refering to bungie working on destiny while doing ODST and REACH. Is it an Internet rumour or did they confirm they were trying things out? Sounds kinda selfish to me though I mean Easter eggs about your new game is a cool idea, but putting features in a game to test another sounds like a **** move to your fan base! If that’s true it’s more reasons why the reclaimer series should do as if reach was but a dream lol

Video is wayyyy too long to watch at work, so I’ll just assume it’s referencing evidence of Destiny from past titles. I see nothing but Destiny play, though.

So, that caveat aside… all I recall are some simple easter eggs. Posters and the like.

That hardly indicates the direction of a new franchise. But I don’t deny developers their ideas just because they don’t fit in the current paradigm. Hardly any of the stuff in Destiny would work for Halo, that includes some really great ideas.

Halo is always about trying new things and pushing boundaries. I don’t think this behavior is any different regardless of developer.

All I know is for every miss like Reach (which I happen to love) or Halo 4, there is a hit like CE or Halo 2. You never know what features will stick.

I say Guardians should focus on all past titles to inform what Guardians does.

Bungie was kicking around ideas for the game that became Destiny when Microsoft ordered them to make halo 2.

yea its really cool to play destiny, and then go back and play the older halos. Especially w odst and reach, you can clearly see how design elements from those games were setting the foundations for things in destiny.

Destiny has foundations? ; )

Standard software engineering. Why write new code if you already have something working?

Also, are you sure this is the right forum for this?

No they weren’t trying things out. Armor abilities were the obvious evolution of equipment. Otherwise there was really nothing new in Halo that made it “not Halo.”

Don’t listen to crazy people on the Interwebz. Especially ones who spend time trying to analyze their constructed theories on why they think a game is bad.
