Halo 5 Wishlist: What do you want?

Here’s just some of the things for my wishlist for Halo 5. Let me know what are yours and what you think of mine!

  • Collectible Skulls and Terminals (These were always fun to find and I don’t remember either of these being in Halo 4 or Reach) - Custom Games Matchmaking (This is something that I’ve argued for on these forums for a long time. You could Host or Join Custom Games)- Campaign Matchmaking (Like Reach had)- The Metascoring that was in Halo 3 (The MCC’s scoring worked in a weird way that just angered me and was illogical and maybe just needs a patch. Halo 3’s Campaign Scoring was perfect)- Firefight (I preferred this over Spartan Ops personally)- Return of the Grenade Launcher from Reach (It was a very unique weapon, that was very fun and useful. The sticky detonator was okay but I feel as though this was better)- Scarabs and other large scale campaign battles! (Lets have another space battle, fight scarabs again, and whatever that thing in the E3 trailer for H5 was!)

to be honest, there are a few things that I would want changed/added, this would be in order for me to even consider the game.

1)make ADS optional: I hated the feel of it during the beta, I hope they have the option to have classic HUD scope from previous halos.

2)Remove spartan voices: to be honest, its just unnecessary bloat in the game. I found it was rarely helpful, considering I know most of what is going because of the HUD queues. It just felt annoying having to listen to the spartans continually reiterate the obvious. However, If they don’t remove it, atleast make an option to turn it off.

  1. Make spartans look less like their made of plastic: shouldnt even need to mention this to them, since it was a complaint from halo 4(yet it appears they didn’t listen anyway).

  2. have Vannilla sprint only playlist from day one: this is nothing new really, I believe people have asked for this many times already so 343 should be quite aware of this.

  3. Elites as playable multiplayer characters: I want it and: https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/forums/6e35355aecdf4fd0acdaee3cc4156fd4/topics/sangheili-elites-in-new-trilogy-matchmaking/ff89aca2-5e7e-489b-98ae-c58513f99227/posts?page=471

  4. balancing: alot of people say the balance was perfect, but I will have to disagree. A few weapons suffered from imbalance during the beta and could use tuning. a couple picks though are the Hydra and the BR in particular. There is no arguement that the Hydra is OP, I suspect it will be heavily nerfed before launch though. Although the fanboys will argue that their beloved BR is perfectly balanced, in reality it isn’t. The weapon with its 4 shot kill and rather high rate of fire makes it more akin to weak power weapon as oposed to a standard starting weapon, which often forces players to pick it over other weapons if they wish to be competitive or even hope to survive in higher levels of play. It could use a balance to bring it to par with other starting weapons, either that or a buff to the DMR, Needle rifle, Carbine, and Light rifle to be competitive options as well. People mentioned the AR and SMG as somewhat OP as well, but they will probably be adjusted as well.

7)weapon sounds: Uninspiring. when I played(on a 7.1 Sub enhanced home theatre system) the guns felt rather weak compared to Halo 4(one of the few games good qualites, except for the piss poor sounding magnum, rocket launcher and covenant weapon sounds(Beam rifle and carbine only exceptions)) and Halo 2 anniversary even. I think they could use an adjustment to give the guns a bit more bark.

the above need to be addressed, hopefully in another beta in the summer before final release, that way the game gets a good work out.

personal:

1)Vehicles: We really haven’t seen vehicular play yet so its impossible at this juncture to know whats been changed and what hasn’t. I personally hope that 343 atleast learned from halo 4 the issues they had with their vehicular combat(an essential part of Halo, it would be like having a hamburger without frenchfries(maybe not the best example, but its all I could come up with)). I hope the Scorpion, Wraith, and all warthogs get their old reticules back, but with improvements though. Also, expanding the sandbox to include fan favourites such as the Revenant, Falcon, hornet, and perhaps introducing the Locust.

2)weapons suggestions: people, including myself, have requested some weapons to make a return in halo 5 these thus far have included: the Needle rifle(to give the covenant a DMR equivalent), the Plasma Launcher(buffed), Human Grenade Launcher(A favourite we all know and love to replace the failed sticky Det), Brute shot, and the Legendary Plasma rifle (to replace the failed Storm rifle). Also many have requested the new rocket launcher model be ditched for the Spanker launcher which is 777% better in my opinion than the ugliness that was the replacement presented to us in the beta.

  1. forge improvements: the palletes shown in the beta were… kinda dull. I don’t mean to say reach or 4 had better palettes generally, but 5 seems rather to be in its own category. It seems somewhat out of place or lacking the potential that H2A forge displayed. More Forge options would also be nice. Also, A return of Forge world would be greatly appreciated(Reach forge world, not the poor forge Island BS from halo 4(or maybe a map that is a combination of both)).

4)Larger maps: I found the beta had an over abundance of rather small maps as opposed to a selection of small, mid and Large (Would have yielded better balance test results) and I hope that isn’t a trend that appears once the game is green and in gamers hands.

5)forge map playlist: Something I have always wanted to see. A playlist with nothing but forge maps. It would consist of top downloads and top rated maps that would be rotated maybe twice a month or so if possible.

  1. Listen to feedback: a word to 343, really listen to feedback. we’re trying to help you make a game we will all enjoy, none of us want to see halo go away. While not all feedback is the best, listen to the helpful feedback and work with us on it and turn Guardians into something that will reinvigorate the franchise. run another Beta this summer and show us more, even if it delays launch a month or two, the game will be better for it. large scale beta testing has helped so many games improve and given the game a more successful launch(it falls to the devs and them listening and properly implementing feedback however).

thats my list really, nothing much.

Bonus) Kill locke please and fire mike colter, I would rather have some stupid story that ONI recovered johnsons body and pulled a Winter Soldier type thing. although that would still be a better story than Nightfall to be completely honest.
