halo 4 was a rushed game but 343 is listening to the community and halo 4 is slightly beeing a better game step to step… lets compare halo 4 at arrival and halo 4 now … now its a wayyy better game but it still lacks alot and im positive it will get even better because 343 is listening to the community
halo 5 will be awesome because now 343 knows their mistakes and the know what the community wants we are getting trees in forge imagine forge in halo 5 too choose snow different climates trees, to adjust cliffs, who knows… i am now sure that 343 wont -Yoink- up halo 5 atlest if they dont RUSH IT like halo 4…
Halo 4 had 4 years of development, I doubt Halo 5 will have any longer than that. I don’t have much hope that Halo 5 will be much better if the recent TU is the apex of what to expect, which isn’t all that much better than what Halo 4 was.
I give 'em a passing grade for Halo 4. I’d rather they try new things and miss the mark, which, honestly is what every Halo game has done in some way. Combat evolved, yo.
I also have high hopes for Halo 5. New hardware, new engine, new possibilites, and lots of lessons learned (some more recently than others)
It’s a recipe for something good, which is as fair a statement anyone can make this far away from the games release.
Give 343 a break, they made a good game and even though it wasn’t perfect they still tried. It was their first game created and they’re learning from their mistakes so they can make Halo 5 which might be the best Halo yet.

Though I do believe Halo 5 will be good, merely that they’ve put down the grounding and can now build off of that. (You guys remember the awesome that was Halo 2 and 3.)
Personally, Reach, ODST, 3, 2, 1, were all hard to follow up as a shooter in and of itself. Especially by not the originals. (As we know it.)
And building off of what you got can be really really good. (Shown by Assassin’s Creed 2. Or Jet Set Radio Future. Or Dead Space 2. Or Resident Evil 2. Street Fighter 2. Etc.)
I’m sure Halo 5 will be awesome because Halo CE was awesome, Halo 2 was awesome, Halo 3 was awesome, Halo 3 ODST was awesome, Halo Reach was awesome, and Halo 4 is awesome. Halo is awesome.
I’m pretty sure halo 5 will be a racing game, they are probably trying to figure out how to remove weapons all together and all forms of slayer, ctf and swat will be gone. Maybe they will go even farther with the randomness and we will join a game and the game will end instantly and go ahead and decide a winner.
when you look bact at all the decisions they made gameplay-wise and the logic behind them you can’t feel but worried/sadness about the future of the franchise.
I can personally guarantee that Halo 5:
doesn’t have ranked/social separation
still has game breaking AA’s like Camo/Promethean vision
more core features will be removed and later added back to the game as watered down versions
the game will ship with two 4v4 maps and they’re both unbalanced
the first TU to fix gameplay issues comes 9 months after the launch fixing 3 issues nobody complained about
DLC is handled the same way
personal ordenance makes a comeback with everybody having rockets all the time
The playerbase has dropped significantly yet the game will have 58 different playlists
no regional filter cuz’ it’s fun to meet players all over the world
Why do I feel like the only people who come onto these forums are the ones who ‘don’t’ enjoy the game instead of being on it themselves? Don’t get me wrong, I think 343 did a fantastic job, but it doesn’t mean that I agree with everything they have done and blindly accept everything. The game is supposed to be about fun and not some kind of NFL league and I don’t think the supposed ‘MLG’ should be regarded as such.
The fact that I no longer have expectations for the Halo franchise is perhaps the only thing that will make Halo 5 seem better, but maybe I’m just being cynical.

That is probably the best attitude to take. Everybody has such high expectations of the game and are begrudgingly disappointed in the final product. Still, Halo still might surprise us all.

Not trying to be negative or anything because I myself have good expectations for Halo 5 but JSR was way better than JSRF
I definitely cut 343 some slack for Halo 4. Sure, it’s got many flaws, but for a first attempt at Halo, it’s not half bad. I enjoy playing the game.
As for Halo 5, I am very hopeful that it will be great…but I’m more keeping my fingers crossed. However, if Halo 5 has the same issues that Halo 4 has now…well let’s just say I won’t be playing a lot of Halo anymore.

Man, I hope I never hit your level of despair for Halo…
