So I bought Halo 5 in disc form around the time it came out, but recently (maybe a month ago) I uninstalled it temporarily to make room for other games. However, I tried to reinstall the game a few days ago by simply inserting the disc. Unfortunately, after my xbox made the usual sound of reading a disc, it suddenly stopped and nothing would happen at all. I tried hard resetting and nothing appears to be wrong with the disc (no scratches, rings, or smudges), but other discs work perfectly. In the ready to install section under “My Games and Apps”, Halo 5 isn’t even there. Can anyone suggest solutions or help out please?
I had a similar problem with my Destiny disc a few months back - hadn’t used it for a while and when I went to play it it wouldn’t work at all, disc was clean. Tried troubleshooting, getting it cleaned, on another console. Eventually had to just bite the bullet and buy a pre-owned disc which worked.
There are some steps here on the XBL support site that may help you out:

^thanks for the link, I am considering buying the game again since it is only $20, but I’ll try some of these solutions first.
I am now realizing that NONE of my xbox one game discs are being recognized at this point. Only xbox 360 backwards compatible discs and digitally downloaded games are working. It looks like I may have to take this to the main xbox or microsoft page.

You know, modern technology can be used for great things, when it works correctly. All tech lately, is garbage spewed out by billionaires’ flunkies. Perhaps instead of playing their games we should
