I keep seeing people posting “halo 5 will not have social playlists”. Well, here.

I know but one of the top forums right is “we knew since August of last year” that we wouldn’t have social playlist which is inaccurate.
Good, the main thing putting some of my friends off of getting this game is that it seems “to trihardy”. Social playlists, forge custom games and war zone will probably get them to get it.
They don’t have to be separate just make it so you can turn ranking off and on, add Jip, and any game you get entered in by jip doesn’t count towards ranking if it’s on.
It’s just a little disheartening that it wasn’t a given that the game should have those day 1. It’s like 343 only hears in absolutes. Like, what is even the thought process?
Cue Halo 4: “Hey, 343, Halo 4 is okay, but where are the ranked playlists?”
343: “RANK? You only like ranked playlists and you hate social? We should get rid of social because every online Halo so far has had it?”

Most of the talk in that thread is about how Quinn Del Hoyo’s ego matters more to him that what fans actually want

This has been known for a while. The complaints are that social playlists weren’t there at the start and 343’s responses to our complaints implied that they weren’t even planning them until people started saying something.

yep I feel 343 overcompensating feedback and can’t make compromises
Hopefully there is no stat tracking. The moment there is a permanent record reflecting on you as a player, your behavior and mindset naturally shifts to a more competitive space. It should be like a Halo CE style post game carnage report of old, one-time post game stats, which then disappear to the digital ether after the next game.

I love halo 5, but 343 is being pretty silent.

They didn’t plan on having social playlists until the major backlash at launch. You could tell by the way the game’s MM system is. Even the “social” weekend playlists are ranked.
I mean the ranked playlists don’t really mean anything to me personally just because the ranks reset every month. Personally I could care less if there’s social playlists due to how the ranking system is set up.
I dont care either, I want to down rank so I dont go 8 and 19 as often. IM waiting for the reset.
