Halo 5 will have leaderboards?
I don’t think so. Maybe in campaign times and scores like MCC but not multiplayer
They might list the 200 people in the pro bracket or have campaign score/time leaderboards, but I doubt the latter will be anywhere near as extensive as the MCC.
Although honestly, I don’t like world leaderboards in a game. Feels like it encourages the wrong kind of competition.

There will be a leaderboard for the 200 pro tier players, and it encourages the right kind of competition, the kind that is fierce and for real. Do you voice the same opinion for baseball, basketball, hockey and all other competitive mediums? Probably not. The one’s who do are an extreme minority.
That top 200 leaderboard is the thing that will keep a lot of people playing Halo 5 for years to come. Your way is the Halo 4 way. Your way is a game that dies after 4 months, after which the player count is too low to find games consistently and you will play the same people every game. If Halo 5’s ambition is to provide a game with a decent amount of players after the first 3 to 4 months, then it will need a good ranking system and that leaderboard.
The reason Halo 2 and 3 had 5 year lifespans is mostly because of their ranking systems. Very few people stick with a game for 5 years without anything to play for.
I think it does because if it didn’t then the semi pro and pro ranks would be pointless
I hope they have some type of leaderboards.

I recon leaderboards are essential, world leaderboards would be ideal.
Being able to toggle the leaderboard to search a number of variables would be even better.
They also need to be accessable via the game itself (matchmaking menu perhaps) and part of the game (not a link to waypoint or somthing), nobody wants to get kicked out of the game menu and taken to some external source.

Games always find a way to have lackluster statistics. Should be fun with the API access, eh
Any word on leader boards, or public ranking? What’s the highest ranking in onyx you can be so far? Can’t find any of this info anywhere.
