I don’t even want to admit this guys but I just think it will. With the way 343 has been taking halo we will never have a game like halo 2 or 3 again with big online communities. Everyone will buy the game and not play it after a week. It will die just like halo 4. It saddens me to see halo so far from its roots now. I honestly think mcc will keep more players than halo 5 if it gets fixed any time soon. I personally think if they want it to live then you need to be able to add halo 5 to the mcc when it comes out.
and before you 343 fanboys start, yes I don’t like change. Actually “change” is what is destroying the franchise. Halo 1,2, and 3 changed but changes were Simple changes and balanced. The game was hard. I LIKE MY HALO TO BE A CHALLENGE. I love ripping halo 4 noobs to shreds now that they can’t de scope And sprint lol. Now halo makes changes to make the game easier and I don’t like that. Halo is a competitive game and thinks like the ground pound that are cheap easy kills shouldn’t be there. I will play the beta and at least try the game but I just think it’s gonna flop a week or two after release like 4 did
I think it will do better than Halo 4, but I expect that by Christmas 2016, the MCC will have a larger playerbase than Halo 5. Halo 4 was essentially dead and gone in just a couple months. I expect Halo 5 will at least stay popular for 3-6 months.

Halo 4 isn’t halo 5, and nor do they seem similar, i played halo 4 today and i felt restricted to nearly everything since seeing the beta footage. that goes for every halo. I’ve been and played them all since CE and even today playing all the MP’s again it just can’t help but feel like there could be more, it seems slow and outdated.
So far from it’s roots? It still has power weapons on map, no loadouts, and all abilities are available to everyone. Sure there needs to be tweaking but if you don’t like change then you shouldn’t have liked Halo in the first place because it changed everything.
Too early to tell. Halo 5 could doom Halo to a thousand years of darkness, or it could bring it back to the forefront of video game innovation. While neither is going to happen, we simply won’t know how it plays, and thus how well it will do, until at minimum the beta comes around.
I think the vocal minority that hates any change to the Halo 2 formula will leave within a week while the rest (and majority) of us who want Halo to keep on going strong for another decade will embrace the new evolution of the gameplay and have a blast. Not to mention the people who will be brand new to the halo franchise and will find the arena gameplay to be absolutely enthralling.
I doubt it, 343i are being very careful about this, even putting a Beta out almost one year before the game comes out. I think that Halo 5’s MP will be much better than Halo 4’s, competitive, map control and no randomness etc, you can tell that they have taken some of the criticism from Halo 4 very seriously and they are putting the Beta out this early for a reason. I’m not expecting a pupolation of 1 million players after a year, too many shooters out these days but I think it will have a much better population than Halo 4.
It’s very hard to tell, next gen console, new halo, everything can happen, but am very sure that even with a bad population Halo 5 would be at least 40% better than Halo 4.
I loved Halo 4. And I am an old Halo vet since Combat Evolved days. I know the things that people didn’t like about Halo 4 but I just doth see why that made it a bad game
I am REALLY getting sick of these “halo 5 will fail” rants. For bloody sake at least wait in till the game is out and about before making your blind rage induced assumptions about something you know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT!!!

I don’t get what people don’t understand about this. THEY’RE NOT GOING TO KEEP MAKING HALO 2 AND 3!!! why keep complaining about it. They made a whole bundle of old games even remastered it so all the people who can’t adapt to new things can play the old style that they missed so much (i was one of those people that missed the old style of play) Halo 4 sucked but this new halo 5 looks nothing like halo 4 so why not be happy its a new and exciting game rather than complain just because everyone else is. It has a few armor ability things and its faster paced because of it, but In this year 2015 would you guys honestly want to see a new games game play presentation be your character walking everywhere (like in halo 2 and 3) and you can only shoot the gun and throw grenades and that’s it? how boring of an event would that be for everyone amped up for a new halo game…that may have been great for 2004 but now that would be the most boring game showcased on any platform. People expect them to make a NEW game after a few years so they try to give us something different than what we have already had. If they make the same thing people complain and shun them because we already have it and if they make something new people wont accept it because its different than before…well they have to make something right? Other wise we are just paying them millions every 3 years to revisit things they have already created. I would say go into it ready to play a new game instead of try to compare it to halo 2 and 3 its not those games and it never will be and that’s a good thing. Those games will stay great the way they are and are even available to play, but lets evolve with the times as i think that’s what 343 is trying to do as is everyone else in life in general.
The sad thing is is that I saw the same types of threads when Halo 4’s features were announced - threads stating that H4 would die and people clambering to defend it and state that those people were delusional.
Yknow what happened? h4 died quicker than people even expected.
I couldn’t be happier about some of the things I saw… the only thing I’m reluctant about is not being able to heal while sprinting. Thats kind of like the shield, “non healing” from 4 which I think shouldn’t have been the case either.
However REALLY happy to see thruster pack, I can’t tell if that was ADS on the smart look or whatever… but either way I’m happy to w/ what I’ve seen so far. Well done 343… just get Halo 4 back up on the MCC and keep doing what you’re doing.
Also would be cool to throw a ton of money @ Martin O’ Donnell to do the soundtrack for H5 but its your game.
With the Halo Channel, the Halo League and whatever else, it’s likely to stay a bit longer than 4.
343 isnt just going to let the game ride on the brand alone. That didnt work with 4 so they now have to add some backup.
