I didn’t see this posted anywhere but Forbes released part 1 (of 6) of a feature story on Halo 5 about “How it will change the galaxy forever.” The video player is kinda crappy (but that also could’ve been my mac). Anyways thought it was an interesting piece, even with a lot of the same information being said. I was curious though by how at the end Josh Holmes states “the story will change the Halo universe on a Galactic scale,” obviously whatever the Guardians are and why they are being activated is just the start of these changes.

Is this video really spoiler-y or something? Or is it mostly stuff we already know? Cause now I’m afraid to watch it.
I honestly didn’t think it was anything spoiler-y. It mainly was a lot of reiterating things we’ve already heard/know, the only thing that really seemed “new” was the emphasis at the end on how this game is going to dramatically change the Halo universe more so than any Halo game.
Wanna know how the Halo universe can be changed forever in Halo 5? If Master Chief died (._.)
Said it once and I’ll say it again.
My initial theory is that the guardians will delete part of the galaxy and start over again, John is exempt because he has the librarian’s geasa, thus making him reclaimer/forerunner and probably easily manipulated by the guardians/etc.
(If 343 deletes this post then I’m spot on)

If his hypothesis just so happened to be correct because it is an educated guess, the mods would have no reason to delete his post. If he however had a source that he was quoting it would be a different case.
I’m still finding it highly likely we’ll see a post-credits sort of teaser with The Flood returning, this time in full force, starting the same sort of galaxy wide war as the Ancient Human and Forerunner ones; the Guardians almost certainly have something to do with guarding against The Flood.
Thus H6 onward would most definitely be changed forever.

someone correct me if i’m wrong, but isn’t the spirit of fire headed back towards earth with flood infection forms aboard it?

It’s headed somewhere, not sure where, but yes.
Forbes is crap. I realize they are shining a good light on Halo. But they are crap.

Lol you guys are cute. You think I have insider information or something.
Spoiler. I don’t. I know just as much as you guys.

Halo 2 stated it had a secret that would “change the galaxy forever”, and then we had the revelations about the other rings and the Ark. I’m curious what the revelation is for Halo 5 if it’s this significant. John takes command of remaining Forerunner forces in the galaxy? Return of the Flood? Bornstellar’s return?
But I agree, the Guardians are likely some sort of countermeasure to the Flood and/or Precursors, or at least some sort of trial relating to the Mantle.
It’s true it will change the galaxy forever without the MASTER CHIEF dieing…

It was confirmed that the flood are not going to be present in halo 5 but the guardians were made to be a counter measure for a forunner enemy and supposedly the master chief activated the guardians don’t know if it was on purpose or not but then they started to kill everyone.
