The one thing I really hope they do in Halo 5 is bring back ranked playlists, the ranking system in Halo Reach and Halo 4 are the main reason I stopped playing them. Halo 3 and 2’s ranking system have been by far the best, bring it back and maybe fix it up a little bit. If they continue with the ranking system they have now I honestly will not even play matchmaking.
What do you guys think and what do you want to see in Halo 5?
I dont really have anything worth mentioning but I wouldn’t mind it been on the 360 as well as the xbox one because I doubt every single person who has played halo is gonna be able to afford a new console and such.
I know its not gonna happen but I feel like I should just mention it anyways.
Bring back the Arena Style Multiplayer please.
And make the Campaign longer.
limited loadouts, no starting AA, no ordin drops, still have sprint along with a combat roll and or thruster pack that leaves u in 1st person that is maped to the d-pad, shorter kill times, no starting with 1 hit kill weapons, have everything on map to where people have to fight for it. ranked 4v4 matches. more vehic maps. i would even argue to have weapon mods/attachments.
How about a new way of spawning into a multi-player map? Rather than spawning directly into the map on an initial spawn point, why not have teams be dropped in by pelican or ODST drop pods etc. This would only happen at the start of the game or even as the game is loading it will show your Spartan and maybe other Spartans on your team getting on board a pelican or hoping into a drop pod. This will vary depending on the map that you choose and only for specific game types like invasion for example. You could have elites come in phantoms and be dropped off at a certain location on the map and have Spartans in drop pods landing near the objective they need to defend. I believe it would add suspense and an element of excitement to the multi-player game. Considering the power of next gen consoles I believe it is possible. However, it may get boring after a while. (just a thought).

Shorter kill times and weapon mods, but no loadouts or AAs? Why?
More Custom Game options. Definitely.

I think Halo 5 will be mainly 4v4 arena style multiplayer because Titanfall seems to have taken over 6v6. Might still have Big Team though but think they will focus on 4v4 small/medium maps.

Wow, you hit on a lot of excellent points there. My biggest gripes are (1) invisibility was a power-up in the previous Halos and now you SPAWN with a RECHARGEABLE version. The radar jammer does nothing on big maps. (2) Weapons on the map are completely needed. Loadouts make the challenge of getting the weapons obsolete. (3) Ordinance encourages players to camp because they have weapons delivered to them. Make ordinance-specific playlists at least. (4) Jet Packs ruin map control. They should be in the crazier playlists only.
tl;dr Get back to what makes Halo, Halo.
- Better AI.
- More campaign.
- Less multiplayer.
We can go through another exercise of “Multiplayer will be awesome again” but with the present method for doing so apparently being “Let’s get back to basics” there’s precious little reason for why multiplayer should be heavily invested in.
Meanwhile the Halo 4 campaign found some traction and it would be wise to try to continue that, while meeting only the basic requirements of a Halo multiplayer game mode, with some earnest support (more elaborate levels with a very serious interest in replayability, new campaign exclusive gameplay mechanics, new campaign exclusive weapons, better AI, ect.) that would likely irritate the more conservatively minded multiplayer community if that same attention was directed at them again (see. what was done to Halo Reach, Halo 4. Spicing up multiplayer has been a loosing strategy.)
> 1. Better AI.
> 2. More campaign.
> 3. Less multiplayer. Say WHaaaaaaaaaaaaat?
Seriously, though, this deserves some consideration and debate. Multiplayer in CE was as basic as it gets and was supremely enjoyable. If there were any complaints about weapon balance or maps or any of the stuff that clogs the forums now, it didn’t amount to a hill of beans. When Halo 2 came out it was like someone dropped a nuke, and we have been living with the fallout ever since. With CE you played with friends and just lived with whatever was “wrong”, if anything. Once it went online everyone argues about everything.
Bungie’s solution was custom games and Forge. If you didn’t like what they did, make your own damn game. I like to think that worked pretty good. Bungie didn’t make MLG settings. MLG did. The community made Griffball and Rocket Race. Bungie could see what people were taking a shining to and provide it in regular matchmaking. All of their really experimental multiplayer work was done with spinoffs: ODST and Reach. This approach lets them concentrate on the campaign, which is the linchpin of the franchise.
Trying to please everyone in a particular release has to be frustrating and nerve-wracking. Just make the games you want to make, and let the fans modify them to their liking. You can learn a lot that way.
I wanna be able to drop down in a drop pod.
> I wanna be able to drop down in a drop pod.
It would be amazing no doubt.

Then it would cease to be a killer app for the Xbox One. Halo 5 will sell consoles and it probably wont be able to run on 360

I honesty have said this since day 1! it’d just be a little neat thing. I’ve also said to my friends many times that if they’re going to keep there dumb JIP, when someone joins your team they should say in the halo voice “reinforcements on route or inbound” or something to this affect and come down in a drop pod (depending on the map of course) Little things like this send a game from being good to great.
As far as things for Halo 5, just take halo 3 as the blueprint for game types and settings (aka social and ranked playlists, radar in all ranked playlists minus MLG, DLC is a mandatory in ranked playlists)
-Get ride of perks, kill cams, sprint, flinch, JIP (see my JIP idea above and if they have to keep it at least let the player choose to make JIP on or off…or a other idea is make JIP on from friend invites ONLY!) These things have to go I think (were not playing COD or a class base shooter) AA’s could be map pick ups or if your going to spawn with them make sure they don’t have unlimited use. Make sprint an AA again or some kind of speed boost. There’s been a lot of decent idea’s for AA’s
-Have IN GAME visible ranks that you get by WINNING only aka halo 3 style
-New Armour looks unlocked by achievements and maybe ones by Ranks.
-Get ride of this whole “your rewarded for just showing up and everyone gets something for trying”
-make OS and Invis map pick ups aka power ups. Add maybe Speed Boost as well.
-make sure customs games have a ton of options
-give forge player access to colours (so everything on the map isn’t always grey and blue)
-Make sure main playlists like Doubles, MLG etc are there on DAY 1! (Huge joke how it took 2 months for doubles to be released on Halo 4)
-most importantly…stop trying to make Halo a Class base shooter and go back to being an ARENA SHOOTER!!! People would still have all there fun “toys” and powers just differently. They would be in a arena shooter style set-up and not in a class base set-up.
I know there is stuff I’m missing but I’m tired and I think those idea’s would be a hell of a good start.
keep load outs i like them
keep the thing what allows players to join mid game if someone quits ( i was playing reach today every game someone quit)
keep sprint
remove jetpack
remove return to battle field (ever use the jetpack in haven use it in the middle ever time return to battle field return to battle field)
bring back veto i hate hate the vote system it the same game type and map every time
that’s all i can think of for now
get rid of mantis
keep infinity slayer
what I want in halo 5 mmmmmm:
Campaign:
1)much more longer campaign 10/12 hours
2)big open enviroments like halo3 (i want to destroy some scarab =) )
3)improvment at IA
4)flood
5)more class of enemies
Multiplayer
1)like halo2 with sprint
What i want in Halo 5:
- 64 player Dominion and Invasion
- Advanced Forge mode
- More vehicles in multiplayer (Pelicans, Scarabs, Vultures)
- Clan support
I know this is unlikely to happen, but i would be so happy if it did.

I agree with almost every word you just said :’)
