Halo 5 week 3 Feedback. and strongholds

What is your feedback for week 3? They just added strongholds as a game mode right now so leave ur opinions on that.

I just played my first game if strong holds. Its decent and its good that they put ar and vr starts. It makes the game more fun and balanced now.

It’s a bit more fun with BR and AR starts, but I’d still like AR only. The BR is being used over the AR and you can tell when it’s the newby players if they’re using AR’s instead of a BR when it’s given to them.

Strongholds is great though.

I played the second game now. And I think that strongholds is balanced since I was losing 37-1 and went on to win 100-96. It was a really close match. I also like that they put back the old maps.

Was the AR buffed? I just killed a guy with 4 taps on the trigger. He wasn’t playing so I decided to test out the AR’s damage one him. I’ll try to upload a video.

Haven’t played yet. But about to go home and try it out.

I felt that I was nerfed as I can easily kill ar people with my br at medium to long range.

I feel like I am more inclined to use the AR now that I don’t actually have to pick it up. Strongholds is pretty good. Actually, I prefer it over the many other territory type games in Halo. Literally the only problems I have with the beta is Eden and I think they took it out, and the tean balancing system.

-AR and BR starts are good. I don’t care what casuals think, spawning with a BR is just better.

It appears the AR can kill in 4 two round bursts.

I actually fired twelve shots, but the kill registered after the eighth. I’m not sure if all shots must be headshots.

I don’t think you gain any advantage for holding all three bases, while in Territories you would.
I feel like it’s designed to prevent one team from completely steam rolling the other, you can debate whether that’s good or bad.

I do like this a lot though, as I like all KoTH-esque gametypes.

Pegasus is…alright. Will get around to playing more of it later. Dominant strategy seems to be to hold red base on that map.
Also the terrain of the forge canvas itself looks amazing, but the pieces could use work.

Except it makes the game more boring for the majority. I prefer the BR too but, quite simply, AR starts make the game more fun and diverse.

I think half the problem with BR starts is map design. AR/BR starts on Truth and Empire play decent, though there is still some rampant BR cross-mapping going on and DMR and Light Rifle are still hardly touched. I realized what makes Regret and Eden so awful to play on with BR starts is their design. On Regret a team can camp the top middle because it has those large structures on the sides for cover. Truth doesn’t have that, so you can’t camp the middle and the map flows around the edges and through the bottom a lot more. Eden is simply too dark and its placement of catwalks, crates, and miscellaneous items makes it just a mess to navigate safely and regroup with a team your split from.

My feedback on Pegasus is that it is a great map but it could do with some small covers to defend against snipers and rockets from the high ground. They also need to move the placement of the sun in the sky because from just below the rocket spawn if you try to look up at someone shooting you from the high ground your enemy will be obscured by the glare of the sun. They should move the sun where no one is likely to look up into it, like the low ground side, where you always look down from high ground. Make it morning instead of afternoon basically, or vice versa, whichever it is.

The BR still needs to be nerfed but Regret needs to open up some holes in the side covers on top middle so a team can’t easily camp there and Eden needs to be brightened and change some pathways. One problem I discovered with BR starts is that on Truth you better forget ever going on top of Pink Tower because you’ll instantly get 4-shotted by the whole enemy team. If they intend on having BR starts in the final game then Pink Tower needs some slight cover so it’s a valuable power position to hold but still open enough that you can’t camp there.

Aiming feels off in stronghold. Feels looser like my sensitivity got raised or something

I’m very impressed by the Beta!!

The only thing I’d like to get in the full game is that you should be able to change the controller settings more.

I love the green thumb (german: Grüner Daumen) controlls its very close to any other shooter controlls like cod, bf, … the thing I would realy like to see is that you can switch RB and LB as an oppurtiunity. The rest of the Beta is very very very nice and it would be extremly nice if we could play it longer or an second wave of Beta should come because I can’t wait so long for the full game.

The new game modes are allsow very nice. Especialy Breakout is Hot. Stronghold is not going to be my favorite game type as I hate the mode in COD but I have to say I like it realy more in Halo 5. Nice job.

Of course little things are not ready in the menu like in spartan-central sometimes models are not loading and I’m pink all the time but I’m sure this will be fixed. Perhaps some more oppurtiunities could be integrated their too like models for legs, arms … as in Halo 4.

Better than week 2 so far. My biggest complaint is the apparent god awful lag in Strongholds. The game itself lags so much and makes it hard to aim at times.

Week 3 is amazing. Week 2 was the worst. And Pegasus is actually a pretty good map.

I’ve played 3 matches on Truth with AR/BR starts. They were pretty much just clusters of crap. Just horrible. I think Team Slayer will never be played by me upon release.
