Halo 5 Weapon Suggestion Thread

A long time ago, perhaps 6 years ago, Bungie created a thread in their foums asking the community to provide weapon suggestion ideas. One weapon that made it into the game from that thread, was the “Covenant Shotgun” (Mauler).

I want to create this thread so maybe 343i can take inspriation from it.

Mods, I know a Halo 5 thread exists, so lock it if you feel like this topic could fit in that thread.

UNSC

  • Scoped Machine gun

Covenant

  • Needle Shotgun
  • Needle Revolver

Brute

  • Spike Headshot Capable Rifle (Precision wepaon)

Forerunner

  • Slipspace Rupture Gun

Spike gun? Like the Kishock Harpoon Gun and the Graal Spike Thrower in Mass Effect?

I had two concepts for Needle based guns in the next title: Needle Shotgun and Needle Revolver. There was also an idea from someone else for a new grenade. It was the Spike grenade, but instead of spikes, it shot out needles.

Needle Shotgun (name change pending)

  • 3 needle clip
  • 2 needle super combine
  • 2 shot shield break
    -ROF of a Concussion Rifle, slower than the UNSC Shotgun
  • individual needle reload
    -slightly more range than the H4 shotgun
  • I need to find some way to balance so the Sword won’t be obsolete

Needle Revolver

  • 6 needles
  • 4 shot super combine
  • 4 shot shield break
  • speed reloader
  • ROF of the Light Rifle
  • headshot capable

Not exactly, more like a single shot heavy damage slow ROF gun.

A freeze gun that could only hit one person but once your hit you could be saved if one of your team mates hit you with a charged plasma pistol.
