Halo 5 weapon sounds (more identifiyable/please)

from what ive seen from early beta videos.(work in progress)
halo 5 will follow the same trend as halo 4 started with its un-recognizable weapons sounds.

some weapons were obvious(sniper, rockets etc)
but if you got a buddy to shoot every weapon while your eyes were closed
in halo ce-2-3-or reach, you would guess pretty well what he is shooting.

in halo 4 only a few weapons are still recognizable.
the plasma pistol and needeler are weapons that have perminant roots.
every grunt uses them, but their sounds dont resemble former versions.
or how the battle riffle sounds weak when using it…and like crickets when others use it…
sounds when you use them and when others use them are different.
the distance sounds arent right.(hard to identifiy)
in halo 4<
you can eventually re learn the sounds and get over it ,but why relearn when you never had to before.

great

but i do have to say it does sound like a toy which is ok

I will disagree with you and say that I liked the weapon sound design in Halo 4. They simply used the new tools of the age and tried to give us something more believable sounding.

Though I will agree sound design as a whole in Halo 5 is still a work in progress. The BR still sounded like a three round burst in 4, just as a minor example.

I liked Halo 4’s weapon sounds like ALOT

The only bad audio i heard from that game is BR’s cricket sound

yeah i agree, h2A did it perfectly, where the sounds were recognizable to themselves but had new life in them, not just ‘a gun’ noise

If it was like halo 2 ann dat would be shweet

I personally like the Halo 4 sound and look of the battle rifle. IT made it sound more like a gun from 2552

That’s straight nostalgia talking. It’s a new halo in 2015. It NEEDS new sound design.
Some of the sounds I DID find to be a little annoying or strange to me…but it’s growing on me. And there’s no possible way you can argue that it doesn’t sound BETTER. Might not sound classic…but the sound design is leaps and bounds ahead.

Exactly I personally always hated the majority of halos weapon designs and sounds until halo 4 always hated the br it looked like a plastic BB gun and none of the unsc weapons sounded believable until halo 4 yet alas people want a return to those imo god awful sounds.

I want the Halo 4 sounds put into Halo 5. Hands down, no questions asked. The assault rifle in halo 4 is the best sounding weapon I’ve heard in any game ever. It is unbelievably satisfying to fire. That compared to Halo 3, where the assault rifle sounded so horrible that I literally refuse to play Halo 3. Seriously. I won’t play Halo 3 because I hate the assault rifle sounds so bad. If I could port the sounds from 4 into all the other Halos I would be the happiest man in the world, and I could probably play them until the end of time.

Halo 4 got the audio perfect. The man who created them needs about 200 raises and then a million dollar bonus

im not saying to put old sounds in…some halo 4 weapons sounded good.
but plasma weapons and the needeler need to be identifiyable.
and the battle riffle to not sound like crickets…o.0

…casuals…supporting halo 4 …

Halo 4 audio was second to none. They even made a vidoc about how they went the extra mile to record all new sounds. I just pray they don’t embarrass the players trying to feel BA by designing these weapons of death and destruction while tacking on a bunch of squeaky audio chirps :frowning: It’s deep bassy frequencies that emanate strength and power. Nobody can mess with the sound of Halo Reach’s assault rifle!

Dude seriously if you are focusing to much on the sound the gameplay is what really matters and to be honest I really like the sound of the battle rifle in halo 5 beta

But honestly we don’t truly know what the final sound will be until halo 5 is released

I actually thought that Halo 4 had the best sound design in the series. I could literally name all of the weapon and vehicle sounds in Halo 4 wit my eyes closed. If Halo 5 retains the sound fidelity from BETA, then I’m all for it.

I wouldn’t say “god awful”, but I totally agree that Halo 4 had excellent sound design.

Your stats are showing.

I agree, the Halo 4 BR was the worst sounding weapon in the game…and probably the worst sounding BR in the Halo series. The Halo 5 one is a bit of an improvement at least, even if the three shots aren’t as distinct. Overall the sound design of Halo 5 seems like a step up from the straight up odd sounds of Halo 4.
