Halo 5 Weapon Customization(GameStopPreOrderBonus)

So it appears that Halo 5 Guardians is going to have weapon customization, like in GameStop pre-order bonus, it lets you to unlock laser-sight that improves accuracy on BR (only in WARZONE). Cosmetics carry on to arena but without any weapon buffs. >LINK<
I can say that I am dissapointed, not by cosmetics but the fact that Halo is going to include weapon attachments that effects in gameplay.

I’m not too upset about it since it seems to just affects the weapon in Warzone… I also wouldn’t mine it in Campaign either… Just keep it out of the multiplayer.

Looks like I won’t be taking Warzone too seriously. That’ll just be where I’ll go to screw around. It still looks fun, though. Plus, it’ll be nice to show all these laser-sight-users with their shiny toys how a real Spartan uses a BR.

I don’t know if I even like this in Warzone. I’m fine with cosmetic stuff. Heck I’m fine with swappable scopes. I just don’t like attachments that make weapons more accurate, or more powerful.

Please don’t make the laser sight make the gun more accurate. I thought 343i was interested in seamless gameplay that remained the same transitioning through all of the gametypes? This completely eradicates this. I’m normally blindly optimistic, but this I’m not happy about. Add in the possible microtransaction addition in the form of REQ packs…

I think the laser sight and new scope are cosmetic.

You still have a reticle so the laser would just be their and the scope is probably still a 2x. Probably no damage buff just a different feel to the gun that still plays the same as any other Br.

Which is nice and something that I would enjoy, changing the appearance of your weapon to make it look more specops sort of way.

Would love to see how far you can customize your weapon. Would love to add railings on an AR and probably a cosmetic underslug grenade launcher.

Nothing wrong as long as things are purely cosmetic.
Adding skins and scopes (Nothing that increases or decreases scope range, just literally a different skin for the scope) is a way to add longevity by making them unlock-able.

I have to say that, if the weapon does indeed behave differently than its regular counterpart, then I’m feeling turned off from Warzone. Again, I feel as though weapon customization, while a neat idea of purely cosmetic, just doesn’t resonate well with Halo’s gameplay. I get that Warzone is meant to be this crazy mode where anything works, but there are still boundaries…

But hey, if I don’t like it, I’ve still got the awesome Arena gameplay to keep me happy!

And on top of that, weapons now seem to have more customization than armour??? Different scopes, skins, and attachments, and all we get for armour are helmets and suits… What is this madness…

I posted this in a similar thread, So I’ll just leave it here as I’m too lazy to type it out again;

> It’s made pretty clear that the Skin and BR itself are two separate entities."The Sentinel Battle Rifle with Laser Targeter and the Bloodthirst Battle Rifle Weapon Skin!"
>
> Bloodthirst is the name of the Skin. Purely Cosmetic and can be used across the board.
>
> The ‘Sentinel’ BR is a variant of the BR that players can use in War Zone.

> Why do I think this? Because if you look at every gameplay of Warzone, The requisition station clearly says; “Assault Rifles”, “Battle Rifles”, “Sniper Rifles”, You get the point.

> This implies that there are different variants of each weapon in Halo 5 with small, But significant tweaks to them.

> I don’t think we are seeing full scale weapon customization in Halo 5. I think we will be seeing different types of weapons and actually get to use them in Warzone (and possible Spartan Ops?).

> I’m going to throw my hands up and say, “I’m all for it!” I honestly think this is the route 343 are going down. As long as there is a balance between the two sides, Then I can live with it.

> On a side note, This system also explains why we have seen some weapons that look rather similar, But have small differences. Like when we saw Fred wielding a DMR without a scope.

The more I hear about Warzone, the less I like to be honest. I would rather play traditional BTB w/ Arena rules (no loadouts, Req Cards, weapon customization, etc).
