Halo 5 weapon balance at launch

Does anybody know what the final weapon balance will be for Halo 5 at launch? specifically what damage each weapon will have including multipliers?

I’ve searched and can’t find anything.

Not sure what exactly you’re asking.

I’m asking what damage or TTK does each weapon do including headshots. Do headshots give bonus damage like 3 headshots to kill vs 5 body shots for any and all weapons.

I don’t think anyone has those specifics. I haven’t seen any videos of people sort of putting those things to the test, either. Which would be hard to do since there is no Split-Screen anymore. So you would need a willing partner to help with.

This is probably something we’ll have to wait for until release.

I doubt we’ll get an official exhaustive release of this info before launch, or possibly ever.

After release I’m sure people will get right to work putting time-to-kill data together for each weapon by counting frames, and it’ll end up in a spreadsheet somewhere online.

Do we at least know if the BR still has the headshot bonus multiplier? Seems I read somewhere that either they were removing that or maybe removing from the AR or maybe both?

At launch all weapons will probably be pretty balanced, however after launch all weapons will receive a nerf apart from the BR as the BR fan base will make enough noise to make it the only viable weapon in the game. From here on out if you don’t like BR’s then you will have to quit Halo 5 as it will now be Halo 2.5

Halo has never had a head shot multiplier, I would hope they keep it the same. Body shots = Head shots until shields are broken; then 1 head shot is a kill shot.

Dude, really? Give this “Halo 2.5” thing a rest. Even if they were to give the utility weapon role back to the BR, there’s still a boatload of other stuff in Halo 5 that makes it a far cry from being anywhere close to Halo 2’s gameplay.

I suppose AR/pistol starts aren’t acceptable either then, since that would make Halo 5 a CE.5, am I right?

The saw needs a nerd if it gonna be there.

No I don’t care really my favourite Halo is 2 ;). I am just making a point I like the way Halo 5 is shaping up, it looks balanced for all weapons so far obviously will have to wait until launch first however. I am just saying I can see BR purists who can’t see Halo without it being BR starts will moan from day one ruin the game for others who like weapon balance and we will all end up using BR’s again for the rest of Halo 5’s life span.

The saw is a power weapon just like the sniper and rocket launcher. so I don’t see them nerfing it. It seemed in the beta that with the the BR you could kil with 3 headshots in a row vs I think its 5 in Halo 4(where the first 4 shots are the same no matter what you hit and the final shot is deadly no matter what you hit, but you would get the
Headshot text on screen if you landed it.). Or maybe that was just my perception.

From my observations:

AR- Kills in 12 bullets. Best used 12 meters and less. RRR 12 meters +

Pistol- Kills in 5 shots. Best used 13+ meters. RRR 18+meters.

Shotgun- 1 shots anyone within 6 meters. 2 shots within 10 meters. RRR N/A

BR- Kills in 4 shots. Kills ARs and SMGs faster from 13+ meters. Kills Pistols and DMRs 12 meters and less. RRR 18+, less than pistol and DMR.

Plasma Caster- Charged shot can 1SK, with guranteed stick within 6 meters. Lead shots accordingly when beyond that.

DMR- Kills in 5 shots. Effective 18+ plus. Has RRR of 18+meters.

I did not see enough gameplay footage for the other weapons in this game to make a good estimate on what each gun will do, and I didn’t count the Warzone weapons. Either they didnt do a good job using the weapon, or it wasnt used enough to make a good call.

No it should be fine you have to fight over it anyway if it is in arena that is. It may be restricted to Warzone only and for Warzone the Saw is perfectly fine no issues in that gamemode.

If the game launches wit these I would be perfectly content. Will be playing Warzone almost exclusively most likely.

If they did, they wouldn’t have made those changes.

BR players will have to learn they will need to learn to pay attention to their radar, which will not help them nearly as much as it did in the Beta, and learn they can’t charge forward all the time. They will need to learn how to handle more weapons than just another BR, and learn to use other weapons to compensate the BR’s weakness besides power weapons.

If they are good, they will learn. The game is probably the most informative Halo game to date. They screw up, the game will have a legitimate reason since every gun is balanced the way they are now.

They will need to conform to 343’s definition of short, medium, and long range combat. The sooner they understand that, the sooner they can get good in Halo 5. ARs is not going to kill Halo. If it did, we would have seen a hell of a lot more AR time in the previews. So far, the pistol has had the most exposure. I am confident there is a reason for that.
