Lol, and what makes you think that you are the arbiter of who “understands” halo You’re welcome to share your opinion as much as you’d like, but you have no right to deny mine.
I’ve loved Halo since I read the books and played Silent Cartographer in a mall in '01, I absolutely loathed Halo 4 and 5, but I enjoy sprint and ADS/Smartscope.
This whole gatekeeping thing that you’re doing is laughable. Please continue tho.
Halo 3 will forever be the peak of the series, you can like features from other games all you want but don’t deny the ability they have to dilute Halo’s identity.
To me Halo’s identity is based primarily around an art direction, and a fascinating universe. I was unhappy when Halo 4-5 “diluted” that identity by moving to a different art direction and focusing on poorly contrived storylines, but updating gameplay to be more fluid and match the lore better absolutely did not dilute Halo’s identity to me. Halo Reach and 3 stand together as the greatest Halo games of all time to me. 3 was a more epic and massive story, a conclusion to a trilogy, but Reach’s military science fiction was stronger and it had an incredible, self contained story.
by your logic, MCC should have a huge population due to it being the “most halo” out there. But it’s not. DeadCassette is correct. No other game has the gameplay of Halo 5, whereas Infinite copies their gameplay from so many other games, but is executed terribly. There’s a reason that the population dropped so quickly and it’s not just content. The game is bland, generic and outdated.
MCC would have a huge population but guess what happened instead, 343 botched it’s launch twice on both platforms and has failed to fix bugs that the games have had for years.
H5 had a lot more than that. Even 5 years after launch you could easily find a match. If you played MCC at the wrong time you wouldn’t find many players.
Your argument is a poor argument. Both halo infinite and MCC are still receiving updates while 5 isn’t. To say go back halo 5 is nonsense. If 5 was still receiving updates, like FOV sliders, 120 fps boost, maps… more people would play it over infinite. That’s the issue. It’s the only halo title that isn’t.
So you completely missed the entire point of that post yeah?
For years fans of the classic halo’s were told if yo don’t like H4 or H5 stop complaning and just go play H3
And it was a bad argument then and its a bad argument now that people are legitimately using it with Halo Infinite which is exactly what I made very clear (or at least so I thought) with the last line in the post
